Hot Cinnamon Spice (Sachets) (Formerly Hot Cinnamon Sunset) from Harney and Sons

Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: ?????

80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Mar. 9th, 2015

The best cinnamon tea I have found, and the perfect tea for those who try to stop taking sugar with their tea. The cinnamon aroma, together with the other spices (orange peel, cloves) is so strong and sweet that it almost feels like it has sugar in it. One sachet is enough for two cups or a small tea pot. Minus for ad...

A tea for the cinnamon lover! It has a strong cinnamon taste, and can be taken both with milk and without, both good. Minus for added artificial flavour in addition to the real spices.

Gypsy Rose from Zhena's Gypsy Tea

Mar. 9th, 2015

Being very fond of the rose flavour, I have tried many different brands of tea with rose petals, and this is the best I have found so far. The rose aroma is strong, without being overly perfumed or artificially sweet. The taste balances perfectly between the black tea and the rose petals, bringing forth the best in bot...

Lady Grey from Twinings

I HATE Earl Grey - and Twinings is no exception - but Lady Grey I can somehow tolerate. Maybe it's the lemon mixed with the bergamot? Anyhow this one smells way better than it tastes and you do NOT want to add milk to it. I had it both with and without Splenda to see what it would be like. Meh.

Mar. 2nd, 2015

And now, I get to the final tea of my pack of 24 (plus 2)!

Unfortunately, while this tea wasn't bad, I wasn't impressed with it either. It's a pretty straight forward blueberry and black tea flavor, though the tea isn't complex enough to make this really interesting. Maybe it'd be better with a little sugar? It's ju...

nice raspberry smell of decent strength, taste is slightly musty, although this teabag is fairly old....taste is medium strength and with a tinge of lemony bitterness at the end...I really like to try this again with a newer bag...cool red color to this tea though!

Earl Grey Creme Black Tea from Teavana

Style: Earl Grey Cream – Region: Blend

90 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Feb. 25th, 2015

One of the first teas that I've ever had. Its aroma is of a light earl grey with a hint of citrus (not as much as a lady grey) and sweetness. I don't taste the citrus in the brew, but the creaminess comes through and creates a smooth, refreshing liquor that does not need milk or sugar to enjoy. Definitely a favorite an...

A sweet, tasty tea. Excellent dessert tea for when you're in the mood for it. Well balanced flavors with no bitterness. As usual, though, the second cup was weaker.

It comes in packs of 50, so if you like this one it's very affordable.

Feb. 17th, 2015

This tea is sold as an Earl Grey, but the leaf smells really, really different from what I expect. I do notice bergamot, but there are a lot of other aromas in there, and it smells cloying, more like potpourri than a flavored black tea.

Upon brewing, I find I like the aroma even less, because the bergamot is even m...

Surprisingly good! I liked the orange better than I expected. It finishes a little astringent, but otherwise is quite good. Smells good too, if you're in the mood for something moderately citrusy.

Pumpkin Spice Black Tea from Republic of Tea

Feb. 13th, 2015

Very nice tea, so long as you drink it rather quickly! The tea loses flavor as it loses heat. But the first sips I had smelled and tasted wonderful--somewhere between the spices used for pumpkin pie (without pumpkin flavoring) and those used in apple cinnamon oatmeal (without an apple or very oatmeal-ish flavor). So, b...

Surprisingly good! Though the flavor is better than the aroma (which is a bit weak), this is among the best blends between fruit and black tea that I've tried. Very smooth, neither bitter nor overly sweet. There's the hint of raisin-like flavor, but it's also properly balanced and not dominant. This cup also provides a...

As with all tea bags I've tried from Republic of Tea, I recommend a short steep with this one. Less than a minute works fine. You get plenty of flavor, no bitterness, and a serviceable (though weaker) second cup.

This seemed to be a high quality Earl Grey, but that style of tea isn't my favorite. The tea was definit...

Blackberry Sage from Republic of Tea

I like this one. It's got a balanced fruity versus tea-ish flavor, isn't bitter, and satisfies a craving for slight astringency/tartness. When I think about it I do notice the sage there, but it wouldn't have jumped out to me otherwise. It simply contributes to an undertone of herbaceousness.

I'd like it even more i...

I tried this tea again today, and have decided to redo my original rating rather than simply update it.

Okay, the smell is very nice--fruity without being excessively intense or artificial. The black tea provides body and the slight zing of caffeine without making the tea bitter. I didn't steep it long and I think t...

Very solid tea. This is another one that reminds me of oatmeal with fruit bits in it. The tea is well balanced, not bitter, and slightly creamy. The apricot works great too. Quite pleasant, especially if you're needing something caffeine free. Not a top flavor for me, but one I could see myself occasionally craving. Th...

Next up on the tasting adventure is Earl of Bengal, a blend of Bergamot and Black Tea, I made this when resident Earl aficionado was home, so he got to help me taste, and by help I mean he split the cup with me. The aroma of the teabag is pretty much all citrus all the time, the sharp slightly lemony aroma of the Berga...

Jan. 30th, 2015

As far as Earl Grey goes, this tea is a wonderfully balanced and soft-on-the-palate tea. It also happens to be one of few Earl Greys that takes on more aroma after steeping.

I find it to be a bit overpriced, but it's very possible that I don't comprehend its true value. On the occasions where Marriage Frères is the...

This is a smooth and mellow Earl Grey tea; check it out when in the UK.

To the traditional mix of china black tea and bergamot, Tea Palace adds dried blue malva flowers which smooth out the tea and add a hint of sweetness. It is one of their best selling teas.

I haven't found anything similar in the US. Some ea...

This is my first time trying any of Kusmi’s Teas! I took advantage of one of their free shipping/% off deals and boy am I glad that I did! This mild, pleasant tea has a strong smell out of the bag but a mild one in the cup.

I like eating cranberries for food, but wasn’t sure about as a focus note in tea. It’s in the background and almost makes me want to say it’s an astringent feel, but it’s not. It’s natural and not artificial, not stron...

I tend not to like these sorts of fruit-flavored blends, and this was no exception. Sampled at Velvet Sky in Jenkintown.

The dry leaf has a cloying raspberry aroma.

Upon brewing, produces a bright red cup that seems to smell more like raspberry jam (and a bit like strawberry) than anything else. Flavor is quite...

Jan. 14th, 2015

This tea has a soft flavor. It has a good citrus aroma and leaves a creamy aftertaste that I like. I may be biased in my verdict since I love Earl Grey teas.

It is good without any sugar, milk, honey... or anything. It is soft enough on its own.

I don't know where to by this one specifically since I've received i...

This is the first Earl Grey I ever tasted, and I haven't yet found one that is equivalent.

The aroma isn't too strong, but I like it anyway.
It seem to me that the flavor is what to be expected of an Earl Grey Tea. Compared to the other Earl Grey teas that I've tasted, this one feels more pure, without any aftertas...
