I always buy tea bags for eating in restaurants. In the USA, Lipton is the tea offered. I have been trying different brands of bagged tea. This was my first taste of Typhoo. It has a strong taste that does not linger in your mouth. Very dark brew. Has a nice punch that will pair well with an omelette.

As expected the aroma is similar to a pine forest on fire, or a freshly paved road. For those new to lapsing souchong, it might be a bit intimidating. This tea has a very mild earthy aroma. The liquor is a pale amber. A tea that is 'light' on flavor, with no after taste. I was hesitant to try this just because it is from a non traditional growing area. I am underwhelmed with this tea. It might serve as a 'base' for blending or adding a flavor. It was a bit of challenge to describe the aroma. I finally decided on 'sweet pine'. There is a 'wood' aroma with a definite 'sweet' under tone. The liquor is a deep amber color, malty. I'm not catching any 'peppery' after taste. A decent Assam. Good price for a good tea.
