Beautiful Mind from Shanti Tea

Style: Herbal Tea – Region: ?????

75 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5
Aug. 22nd, 2024

This is a tisane crafted from a few herbs that supposedly provide a cognitive boost: gotu kola, gingko biloba, and ashwagandha, along with some other herbs that presumable add some flavor, like sage and lemon verbena. It also contains peppermint and rosemary, which some believe have healing or stimulating properties. ...

Raspberry Earl Grey from Shanti Tea

Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: ?????

80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Aug. 3rd, 2024

I tried this both hot and iced, and while it is fine hot, it is meant to be served in the summer on ice (with sugar or honey of course, and a squeeze of lemon is good to have as well). It is mostly organic, with only the "natural essences" being not organic. The aroma is floral and fruity, and the flavor emphasizes t...

Caramel Latte from Shanti Tea

Style: Flavored Tea – Region: ?????

80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Jul. 31st, 2024

This is a surprising tea. I never saw one of these before, and until now, I thought only lunatics would attempt to mix tea with coffee. It is a blend of black tea, a few coffee beans, sunflowers, and natural caramel flavoring. I was pleasantly surprised at the rich flavor (when made with milk and sugar of course). T...

Crimson Elixir from Shanti Tea

Style: Flavored Tea – Region: ?????

85 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Jul. 24th, 2024

This is a very unusual tea - I am a little unsure how I feel about it, so I may amend this review later. It is made with hibiscus, elderberries, and beet root and, strangely enough, they recommend steeping for just 2 minutes. I am guessing that is to prevent the tart hibiscus from stepping in and dominating the flavor...

Kama Sutra Chai from Shanti Tea

Style: Chai / Spiced Tea – Region: India

80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Jul. 24th, 2024

This makes a very sweet, floral chai, which is not surprising, since it contains 3 kinds of flowers, in addition to cinnamon and other spices. The flavor is a little extravagant, but nice. I see that my review is very different from Alex's - maybe the formula has changed, or perhaps our taste buds are different.

I believe it is actually a CTC although it is a very good tasting tea, warm and pleasant and very good without milk. Similar to smooth premium Ceylon in taste

Rose Petals from Shanti Tea

Style: Herbal Tea – Region: India

87 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Sep. 18th, 2014

This was my first rose petal tea, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect.

The dried flower petals had a nice perfume scent, which I enjoyed because I'm really big on flowery teas. I can imagine that the floral scent wouldn't be for everyone.

The taste was smooth, mild, and pleasant. Nothing bitter about it.

I...

Chocolate Strawberry Mocha from Shanti Tea

Style: Miscellaneous Blend – Region: Blend

Aug. 3rd, 2013

I used to drink tons of coffee, the by product of working in a coffee shop as a teenager. I got a bit sick of it, but still love the smell and taste of it on occasion.

The aroma is delightful, a mellow blend of tea mixed with rich chocolate and coffee and a sweet yet slightly tangy kick of strawberry. The smell rem...

Passionfruit Black from Shanti Tea

70 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Jul. 3rd, 2013

I usually don't care for passionfruit - but I had a Shanti Iced Passionfruit Black tea - and man, was it good. Granted, it was the middle or summer - so this was a fruity, refreshing sip.
I don't think this tea is discontinued - as I just had it.

Smoked Maple from Shanti Tea

Style: Flavored Oolong – Region: China

90 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
May. 22nd, 2013

This is a preliminary rating based on the smell alone - I just got a sample of this loose-leaf tea and can't wait to brew some up. I bet it'd be great in the winter as you can smell a sweet maple scent and as Sylvia mentioned a faint whisper of smoky wood. It looks appealing visually as well. I will update this revi...

Kama Sutra Chai from Shanti Tea

Style: Chai / Spiced Tea – Region: India

73 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 3/5
Jan. 24th, 2013

The dry leaf smells a bit like potpourri, and a bit like a regular Masala chai.

Upon brewing, this tea is quite peppery and almost prickly on the palate. The brewed cup is not as floral-smelling as the leaf. Aroma is complex and hard to describe: I definitely notice the clove, but the other aromas seem to blend to...

This tea smells kind of like mulled cider. The flavor is a little weird with the flowers. I don't usually like floral teas. It took 8 minutes for me to brew it strong enough. I added cream and sugar.

Warm Apple Cider from Shanti Tea

Jan. 10th, 2013

The aroma is almost repulsive to me, but I don't like high-quality green teas, and this tea has a base of green oolong. The flavor is subtle. It's not as strong as I would like it, but the ginger stands out, and I don't like that. I added cream and sugar.

This tea has an interesting aroma. It smells kind of like burning wood. It's a little weird. I like the flavor, though. It's smooth. I didn't know this was oolong when I tried it, and I was surprised to find out. It's very dark. I added cream and sugar.

This tea smells like heaven on a bun, minus the bun (as my friend would say). It has a rich, smoky, roasty, sweet caramel-flavored aroma, which I, as a coffee and sweets lover, am drawn to. So I was a bit disappointed by the taste, but it was still very good. I love caramel-flavored teas, but I can't taste the caramel ...

This tea tastes kind of weird, but maybe that's because I added cream and sugar. I can't get it to brew strong enough for my taste, and I think the oolong is overpowered by the orange flavor. I thought it smelled pretty good when the leaves were brewing, though. It smelled kind of like Apple Jacks.

This tea is actually really good. It's not was I was expecting, because it has a rooibos base, and I don't like rooibos, but the berry flavor overpowers it. It smells kind of like candy. I added cream and sugar, and it actually blends really well with the cream, which also surprised me.

I've been drinking this tea for the past two days, and really like it. It has a nice, light, spicy aroma, and a equally light and pleasant flavor. I thought this tea was refreshing and agree that it feels uplifting as well. I will definitely be drinking this again!

This tea has a nice aroma. It tastes kind of like chai rooibos. I like the blend of spices, but don't like the dominant flavor of rooibos. I'm a fan of chai, but I don't like rooibos in general. I added cream and sugar.

Rose Petals from Shanti Tea

Style: Herbal Tea – Region: India

80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Jun. 1st, 2012

I love rose petals, both for brewing as an herbal tea on their own, and for blending with both green and black teas. Brewed on their own they produce a surprisingly strong cup with a reddish color, pleasing rose aroma, and strong flavor. The aroma is very different from most of the light, airy floral aromas, and more...

This tea is pretty good. The aroma is rich, but the flavor is somewhat weak. When I brewed it longer, it tasted a bit bitter. But other than that, the flavor is really good. Maybe if I had some more I could experiment more with brewing times and get it to taste better. I added cream and sugar.

Citrus Punch from Shanti Tea

May. 30th, 2012

I am very skeptical of flavored teas in general, but this is a flavored tea done well. It is not only completely unlike any orange-flavored tea I have tried up until this point, but it was impressive.

The base tea shows a large-leafed, dark oolong, and the aroma is of both tea and orange.

Upon brewing, there is ...

May. 23rd, 2012

Aroma of the dry leaf is like a masala chai, heavy on the cardamom, but with perhaps a more strong suggestion of dried herbs, like an herb garden.

The brewed cup, red in color, smells much less like a typical masala chai. The rooibos is strongly evident, and there's a pretty strong spicy quality, I think from the g...

This is the green leaf, or Rama Tulsi. I prefer the red-leaf, or Krishna tulsi, but this is actually my favorite example of the green-leafed variety that I've tried.

I find green tulsi can sometimes have a metallic quality, and this quality is thankfully greatly diminished in this sample. This tulsi is smoother an...

I have been curious about this tea for some time, and I had no clue what to expect, as it is the first tea I have ever tried which was grown in the Americas.

Broken leaf (CTC) and infuses quickly, but does not become bitter if steeped for a long time. Shanti Tea recommends a 2 minute infusion without milk but I thi...
