Ceylon Tea Bags from Ahmad Tea

I haven't tried the loose leaf tea from Ahmad, but I did have the opportunity to try this tea as part of an assortment pack I purchased at Marshall's. You may also be able to find it at TJ Maxx or Homegoods.
It is a good Ceylon bagged offering that brews a nice golden color with good flavor without being too bitter....

The bagged tea of this type from Ahmad comes in individually wrapped bags in a 20 pack, and also in 50 circular bags in a larger pack. This tea came in an assortment pack purchased at a local Marshall's. It has a smaller amount of bergamot than the earl grey and I found it a quite appealing and relaxing cup of tea. It is not overly strong, but strong enough to wake you up in the morning. Definitely a step up from common teas at the supermarket.

I prefer this over Twinings Earl Grey, but there was something about the bergamot flavor that I didn't like as much as other brands, such as Williamson or Dilmah.. Part of an Ahmad Tea assortment purchased at a local Marshall's.
Aroma was good, however, I found it quite average and lacking any distinction from the run of the mill brands at the grocery store. I find Ahmad's other offerings are quite good for the price, such as English Tea No. 1, Ceylon, and the green tea.

This tea is nothing special if you compare it to other bagged Earl Greys.
I think that the smell and flavor of bergamot is not strong enough. It is a little too bitter for me. You can add milk to it but then you will lose bergamot completely.
Anyway, it is just average bagged tea.

Not super impressed with this earl grey. I drink black tea, and found the bergamot too bitter to drink. This was after a brew time of less than 3 minutes.

Meh. Generic fanning green tea. Not too bad if you include honey, but it can still go bitter. If you have nothing else it's not the worst, but I wouldn't buy it again.

The scent and flavor of jasmine is strong, and if you add honey that definitely improves this tea. Quite meh. This tea goes bitter too easily and the lemon isn't nearly bright enough for me. Makes multiple cups easily, so that's good if you like it. Unfortunately, though it isn't the worst, it's far from the best tea, imho.

One of my favorite blends--particularly with respect to the price. The flavor is smooth, the citrus noticeable but neither fake nor overwrought; and no matter how long I let this steep, I don't detect any bitterness. I bought 100 grams to start out with, but I expect this to be a staple of my tea cabinet from now on.

This tea needs a really short steep time for me--say, 30 seconds--in order to be pleasing. Otherwise, it quickly becomes bitter. In fact, by the flavor, I would have guessed this was a black tea.
Not too bad if the steeping is kept brief, but there are a lot of teas I've enjoyed more.

With the first brewing I could detect a lime scent, but it was fairly subdued. The citrus flavors are even more muted when drinking. They did seem to smooth out the black tea for me, but not enough. I would have appreciated a brighter tasting cup.

Smells like peaches and cream oatmeal!! mmm! Best smelling tea ever! Unfortunately all that richness and flavor in the smell turns into a slightly bitter black tea that actually has only mild fruit flavor. The black tea itself is bold though.

very good smell and taste....the strength is just about right too...steeped 4 minutes but didn't boil as directed. Perhaps a bit longer steep next time. The amount of flavoring seems spot on....not overpoweringly artificial or an underpowered hint.
