Kama Sutra Chai from Shanti Tea

This makes a very sweet, floral chai, which is not surprising, since it contains 3 kinds of flowers, in addition to cinnamon and other spices. The flavor is a little extravagant, but nice. I see that my review is very different from Alex's - maybe the formula has changed, or perhaps our taste buds are different.

This is a very mild, bland tea. Lemon and sugar overwhelms it, but it is decent on its own or with a splash of milk - then it is pleasant and bready, with some mild tannins coming in to the mouthfeel. Priced too high given the quality, imo.

This is a light and easy Darjeeling which tastes fine, but is a little lacking in body and flavor. It blends well with milk or lemon. The lightly sweet, earthy aroma of the tea leaves is its best point. Despite the impressive name, this is a pretty ordinary tea, and sells for an average price.

This is a good deal on an organic earl grey - as of this writing an 11 oz bag is selling for a very attractive price, and it is a good tea. Like a lot of SerendipiTea's products, this is both organic and kosher. The recipe is straightforward: black tea, ginger, cinnamon, anise, cloves, and cinnamon. This is an Indian black tea flavored with organic coconut, organic marigold/calendula, and coconut and mango flavoring - so it is very tropical in character. It was quite nice with milk and sugar, or with just sugar, sort of dessert like. I bet it would be good on ice as well.

This is a medium strength tea with some light, woody tannins. It goes best with milk, but it works with lemon and sugar also. It has vanilla in it, and that helps give it a nice aroma, and has a subtle impact on the flavor. Overall, it is a good, versatile tea that I would buy again.

This is a finely ground mainstream Indian tea with the spices (cinnamon, cardomom, ginger, and clove) mixed in with it. It is not as good as making chai with fresh spices, but this makes a perfectly acceptable masala chai.

Thanks to Greg and Inge for this Christmas gift. A malty and complex Assam that feels very nice on the palate. This went very well with soy milk, which is not what always happens when I add soy milk. A treat for sure.
