Earl Grey teas are often my favorites, but I'm surprised that I like this blend better than Palais des Thes traditional earl grey. This one was absolutely delightful and really made my day better just by sipping it. I will be looking for again!

Earl Grey from Twinings

Jun. 6th, 2019

I got this from a restaurant hot-tea selection box and took home an extra bag to taste-test on good well water. The bergamot was somewhat feeble throughout the consumption experience. Still, it's among the better Twinings teas I've had (yes, I realize that's not saying much).

Sweetened, as I always do, this prod...

Blueberry & Honey from TEViVE

74 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
May. 20th, 2019

Curiously, this line of tea isn't found on the TEAViVE website as of this writing, but I have no problem finding it in a local Dollar Tree, where I first saw it. On the bottom of the boxes, TEAViVE provides a batch number and "best before" date, as well as lists the blueberry and honey flavorings as being natural. Th...

Earl Grey Crème Black Tea from Teavana

Style: Earl Grey Cream – Region: Blend

87 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
May. 11th, 2019

This is my favorite Earl Grey Cream tea yet, and that's not a knock on Murchie's excellent rendition, which is a better value but just a notch below Teavana in richness.

Teavana has undergone a remaking of its marketing and strategy under the Starbucks banner: no more stand-alone tea shops, just 15-sachet plastic t...

More floral and perfumey than a typical EG. It is not Upton's best but it is a worthwhile tea.

Mar. 9th, 2019

This is one of the best Earl Greys I've had. The base tea is wonderful and the bergamot is subtle. Note that I'm saying that "subtle" is a positive thing, so if you like Earl Grey with a powerful citrus flavor, then this one might not be what you're looking for.

That said, the tea is extremely mellow for an Assam in...

Peach & Passion Fruit from Ahmad Tea

Style: Fruit Black Tea – Region: Blend

62 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Mar. 5th, 2019

Both the dry tea and steeped liquor have a perfumy peach aroma that smells to me like peach Jolly Rancher candy (a discontinued flavor, sadly). There's just enough passion fruit to be detectable, but I bought this particular flavor for the passion fruit and am a bit disappointed that it isn't stronger.

The fruit fla...

Feb. 28th, 2019

A local Middle Eastern market had a gift pack of this tea along with a free Ahmad tea mug for $4, so I couldn't pass it up. I decided to try it alongside the loose leaf Special Blend. One thing that I'll note is that, though I assume they're intended to be the same tea, the packaging on the bagged tea doesn't include t...

I don't see a point in proactively obtaining this tea, especially for money. Here's another offering I got at no cost (the best way), thanks to its being available in a tea box at a meeting, at a Holiday Inn Express. I'll rate "value" based on the prices I usually see for Bigelow teas in-store.

Feb. 13th, 2019

It is always exciting for me to see a new Earl Grey appear among Upton's line up. This one strikes a great balance, with a light bergamot presence matched with a mellow base tea. This makes for an EG that tastes lovely and never irritates or seems too aggressive.

I really like this tea! It’s a delightful sort of spicy with hints of sweetness, even without sweetener. I don’t always enjoy orange flavor in tea, but in this case it blends nicely with the spices, the main one of which is cinnamon with a bit of cardamom. Overall, I agree that it is reminiscent of red hots. It als...

The "subtle flavor of bergamot" is definitely subtle. I can't actually smell any bergamot in the dry tea. Instead, it smells entirely like a malty CTC Assam.

While the tea's brewing, I can just make out the citrus through the tea. I'm getting less malt than when dry, but much more dry, tannic, earthy leaf with a bac...

"This tea. This tea is good... good for me." ...a tune my grandfather used to sing when he'd take his first sip of this tea... Every time I would serve it to him as a kid, he would sing it. It brought joy to my young ears. Oh my, this brings many a tear to my eye. I would ALWAYS comment in response, "Grandpa, shut up! ...

This tea is good! I was a little over-hyped for it... It's one of the best lemon flavor tea's I've had, but I have never had a great one, personally. As with most fruit flavored tea's I've tried: MORE TEA FLAVOR, LESS FRUIT FLAVOR (please).

I thought this might be a real mess - (a blend of tea, bergamot, chocolate, flower petals and lemon peel?) - but it is a nice mellow tea, best with milk. Excellent when some lapsang souchong is added!

Plenty sweet and lightly spiced with clove and vanilla. This has a fair amount of orange flavor too. More than a little artificial tasting, and the base tea is bland. Nothing special here, but it is well priced.

Wow. This was one of the best-executed, if not THE best, fruit black teas I've ever tried.

I'm not normally a fan of flavored teas, but I had the opportunity to smell this at my parent's house, and the leaf smelled really appealing. The fruitiness is strong but it doesn't completely cover the aroma of the tea itself...

The dry tea smells very strongly of bergamot and very much like Bigelow's regular Earl Grey.

The taste is much different than the regular Bigelow. Much more tea shines through the citrus. I suspect that the base tea is the Steep English Breakfast, which is a flavorful Sri Lankan/Ceylon tea with a mellow cocoa bitter...

Twinings is a very afforadle and accessible brand of bagged teas - and if you like a classic Earl Grey (Bergamot flavor), and if you happen to like lavendar - the aroma of this tea is very nice. I adore this spicy tea. It tastes like Christmas morning in a cup. This one is good with or without a bit of honey; it is sweet enough to drink on its own. A splash of cream makes for a decadent treat. This tastes almost like melted red hot candies. It is powerful!

For a store-brand bagged tea, this seasonal offering was excellent! My immediate impression sniffing the dry bag was a striking resemblance to the flavor (not smell) of Good Earth's "Sweet and Spicy": very intense on cinnamon, with orange quite noticeable. However, unlike the Good Earth tea, this one has black tea (...
