Devonshire Earl Grey from Upton Tea Imports
Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: Blend93 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Jul. 25th, 2010
This is the newest of Upton's Earl Greys. It has a floral, sweet scent, with a touch of Juicy Fruit gum. This carries through into the taste, but the bergamot increases here, so you are left with a very pleasant cup. They add a bit of lemon or peel to the blend, which deepens the tea. I particularly like it blended...

Orange Spice Tea from Stash Tea
Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: ?????53 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Jul. 8th, 2010
Very orangey and fruity aroma, and spicy, but I notice more clove than cinnamon (which I like). Very different in character from Constant Comment though. This tea leaves a tingly sensation in the mouth, possibly from the clove. My main complaint about this tea is that it is boring.
The black tea has a fairly stro...

Red Raspberry from Fortunes
Style: Fruit Black Tea – Region: Blend100 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5

One of my all-time favorites. It has the full body of a good black tea, along with a sweeter flavor from the raspberries. This tea goes well with a light afternoon lunch or high tea.

An above average tea, to be sure, but nothing special here. The aroma and flavor are both what you'd expect, just well done.

To me, this tea doesn't have a strong aroma, but the flavor is excellent. It's very biting, very bitter. I recommend a fair amount of sugar to cut the bite. This and the Victorian Rose tea are my favorite teas.

Overall, this is one of the best teas you can buy from Tealuxe. The aroma and flavor are both fantastic. This is a great tea to enjoy first thing in the morning, since it's not strong or biting, or for relaxing later in the day. Make sure to enjoy the smell.

October Revelation from The O Dor (Theodor)

This tea is like a more delicious version of Earl Grey. Maybe Russian Caravan meets Earl Grey...the sound of those two just makes my mouth water. The bergamot and orange hints make this a delicious full bodied tea - a perfect complement afternoon tea pastries.

Decaf Muscat from Lupicia
Style: Fruit Black Tea – Region: Blend83 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5
Jun. 8th, 2010
I had to try this tea because my neighborhood tea sommelier told me it was based on Muscat wine...which I love. The aroma of this tea knocks your socks off...its sweet, flowery, almost with a fruit punch scent. However, the taste is no where near as strong as the aroma which i thought was odd. It wasn't a bad thing, st...

Darjeeling | Elevation from Ineeka

This is an interesting blend as the addition of calendula (pot marigold) flowers is subtle and, at least as I perceive it, only slightly tweaks, rather than characterizes, this blend. The flower is well-chosen: it blends seamlessly with the base tea, and it's really impossible for me to say where the tea ends and cale...

it's got a silly name, and it does feel a little silly bringing this box out of the cupboard in the cold hard light of January, but it's such a treat! if tea can be "cute," that's what this is! i adore it.

Earl Grey Decaffeinated from Twinings
Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: ?????33 / 100 Aroma: 4/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 1/5
May. 20th, 2010
Exceptionally lemony and citrusy for an Earl Grey...there's only a weak suggestion of the usual bergamot aroma. The aroma is more like candied lemon than Earl Grey tea, and it has an artificial quality to it. The black tea presence is entirely unremarkable...although this tea brews a dark color, there is little other...

I think this tea is OK, but I am a sucker for vanilla black teas. Neither the vanilla nor the tea is top-notch, but you can't beat the value.

I disliked this tea...the vanilla aroma is fairly strong but has an artificial quality to it. It also doesn't blend well with the black tea. Admittedly, vanilla-flavored tea is not one of my favorites, but when well executed, it is creamy and smooth and yet having some depth. This one just comes across as vanilla pu...

Tastes like Kool-Aid, basically. I was unable to distinguish any basic tea flavor. And I had to use two teabags per cup to get much flavor at all.
No, thank you.

Winter Solstice Tea from Peet's Coffee and Tea (Peets)
Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend83 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5

As its name implies, this is a seasonal offering, available only around Christmas and priced like a once-a-year indulgence. The flavor is festive, with warming spices and a bright, optimistic note from the orange peel. It has a slightly astringent quality too; I don't know whether that's from the citrus or the Indian t...

Organic Apricot Ginger Black Tea from Good Earth Teas

Apricot or peach with ginger is one of my favorite black tea flavorings, so I was excited to try this one. While it has a sweet, gentle flavor with a mild zing, none of the components really shine - I wish I could taste more of the apricot, the ginger, and the tea itself. It makes an okay evening tea, when I want somet...

Unremarkable base black tea in this blend...not very aromatic. Fruity aroma is natural and pleasant, however...fairly strong but not overwhelming. Flavor is mostly sour...not so much that it's too sour but that there isn't really anything other than sourness in the flavor.
I found this tea to be disappointing. A ...

this is alright as earl greys go, but certainly not excellent. the bergamot was not as strong as i like it. smooth.
kind of expensive. there are better earl greys out there... my favorite is zhena's gypsy - uplifting earl grey. earl grey supreme by rishi is also good.

India Breakfast Tulsi Tea from Organic India

This tea is smooth and balanced and the way it makes you feel is smooth and balanced as well. It's a bit like a masal chai/spiced tea since the tulsi imparts clove and other spicy aromas. The tulsi is strong enough that I can't really say all that much about the quality of the tea, but whatever tea is used blends wel...
