Sapphire Earl Grey Tea from Novus Tea
Style: Blue Flower Earl Grey – Region: Blend67 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Aug. 22nd, 2011
This was a good, solid Earl Grey, but it failed to wow me the way some of the other Novus teas did.
Aroma is strongly fruity but also somewhat deep and malty. Fruity aroma strongly suggests concord grapes. Good balance of base tea and bergamot flavoring. Less citrusy than some Earl Greys. Very astringent, and ve...
Citron from Tazo Tea
Style: Fruit Black Tea – Region: Blend43 / 100 Aroma: 4/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 2/5
Aug. 16th, 2011
This blend, which has since been discontinued, is an odd one. I can see why it was discontinued, but I'm glad that I was able to try it when it was available.
Tazo adds citric acid, "natural flavors", and orange peel to black tea to create this blend. Unlike Tazo passion, another blend with added citric acid, whic...
Organic Lavender Tea from Divinitea
Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend63 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Jul. 19th, 2011
A fairly robust, standard black tea with a strong, but not overpowering lavender presence. Lavender can tend to have a resinous quality, leaving a sticky astringency on the palate; this tea has none of this potential flaw, which I am grateful for. It is quite balanced too, the base tea's aroma and flavor definitely c...

An exceptionally strong Earl Grey, much stronger than any of Tazo's other teas. I recommend steeping a little less than one normally would: 1-2 minutes still yields a strong cup, and then you can get a second infusion.
Aroma is very rich: somewhat malty, moderate bergamot presence, and some lemony tones. Full-bodi...
Hazelnut Truffle from Tea Forte
Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend70 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Jun. 25th, 2011
This tea is very good. It has a sweet flavor that at first I thought was a little overwhelming. I usually add cream and sugar to my tea, but when I did a second infusion, I only added cream, and it tasted better. It's rare that I find a tea that tastes good without added sweetener. The flavors blend very well.

This is not a typical Earl Grey; it also contains lemon flavoring as well as the usual bergamot, but the difference is subtle. The overall character of this tea is relatively strong, but not particularly complex. There is a fairly strong bergamot presence, with some noticeable lemon too, but the base black tea does n...

I'm a fan of Earl Grey tweaks, so I expected to like this mix with Lavender and other herbs, but it is better than were my high expectations.

I'm still not 100% sure how I feel about this one. It definitely has that "Christmas" vibe to it, and was less like a typical spiced tea. Aroma of cinnamon, clove, and with a suggestion of vanilla (although that is not in the ingredients). The nuances of the base tea don't really come through, but there is definitel...

There's something a little off about this kind of tea. It has this sickly sweet flavor that I don't know how to describe. I added sugar and cream.

This is a very enjoyable tea for when I want something a little more unusual than regular Earl Grey. The raspberry flavor is not overwhelming, but adds enough fruitiness that I think of this as a fruity tea rather than a normal black tea. I do wish the flavor of the Earl Grey (bergamot?) came through a little stronge...

I had the opportunity to sample this tea at a friend's house.
I find the idea of a raspberry-flavored Earl Grey to be a bit strange: raspberry is not a flavor that I would think of going well with Earl Grey tea.
This blend works, however. I don't like it as much as a regular Earl Grey, but it's really not bad.

Vanilla Almond from Republic of Tea
Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend83 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Feb. 28th, 2011
This was my first Republic of Tea experience. I was immediately drawn to their unbleached, tag-less round tea bags.
The aroma of this tea is strong, and smells like a dessert tea. It has a nutty scent along with the vanilla.
The tea has a smooth almond flavor, accented by sweet vanilla. It tastes so real, like...
Earl Grey Creme Black Tea from Teavana
Style: Earl Grey Cream – Region: Blend83 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5

Slightly flowery and sweet with a creamy taste. I enjoy this tea brewed a bit weak so I can taste the vanilla better. I found this out at work cuz the water out of the coffee pot is about 175. Its a great "dessert" tea with some sweetener and a splash of milk. It is also a very pretty tea with bright blue flowers that...

The texture of this tea is so smooth and thick you tend to forget you're drinking tea. It kind of resembles a mint hot chocolate. Its sweet without adding sugar, and it can be a bit heavy.

My friend picked up this tea bag for me; I've never seen it for sale and couldn't find it listed among Lipton's regular offerings, although it was listed under food service: it may not be available in the U.S. outside of food service settings.
There's not much aroma to the dry tea bag, nor to the brewed cup (3 minut...

It is a sort of orangy red. It is a very rich looking liqueur. It smells intoxicating. It is not too strong, but it does smell a lot like the orange flavoring. The tea shines through that though and smells vegital.
The tea is very interesting. It tastes sort of like Swiss chard with bergamot orange dripped over it. ...

I'm not a fan of decaffeinated teas. This tea, drawing most of its characteristic qualities from its flavoring, is a lot better than any unflavored decaf tea I've had. But, it really just strikes me as an herbal orange spice blend with some dark color and muted bitterness added. In fact, Bigelow makes a pretty good ...

This the first Black Currant that I've had lately that hasn't smelled horrid. In fact, it is very nice and fruity, actually smelling and tasting like black currants. The essence of Russian tea. It has an incense like quality that speaks of mystery. It is somewhat heavy, but light at the same time. It just takes you to a samovar on the sideboard and glasses of tea in the afternoon.
