Oolong Fine Grade from Upton Tea Imports
Style: Oolong Tea – Region: Taiwan / Formosa57 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 3/5
Feb. 28th, 2010
This tea is one step up (in price and presumably quality) from TT11. It lives up to my expectations. Surprisingly, however, the leaves are more finely broken in this tea. Visually, I'd expect this to be the lower grade tea, but actually brewing the two teas demonstrates otherwise.
I find this tea to have signific...

Lemon Zinger Herbal Tea from Celestial Seasonings
Style: Fruit (Herbal) Tea – Region: ?????30 / 100 Aroma: 2/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 2/5

I don't like it. If you accidentally steep it too long, it tastes horrible. It doesn't have a natural taste.

Earl Grey from Darvilles of Windsor
Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: Blend73 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Feb. 27th, 2010
I found this to be fine quality, aromatic tea with the right amount of bergamot flavoring. Although I bought mine on sale, I think the quality merits a higher price for a high grade English tea.

Throat Coat® from Traditional Medicinals
Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: Blend43 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 1/5 Value: 3/5
Feb. 27th, 2010
This tea is a horrible combination of astringent and cloying, with a taste remarkably reminiscent of those dreadful Fisherman's Friend lozenges. On the other hand, it works. Short term, but when you have a sore throat you'll take short term.

Feb. 26th, 2010
this tea was a major disappointment. was hoping it would be good! flat, tasteless. pale green, almost clear liquor, which is fine in a high quality tea, but this just lacked any vibrancy, life, or flavor.
while it was fun to get it, and have the tin, i wouldn't recommend this tea at all unless us want to say u trie...

Oolong Standard Grade from Upton Tea Imports
Style: Oolong Tea – Region: Taiwan / Formosa53 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Feb. 26th, 2010
Upton has renamed their teas or changed their item codes between TT10 and TT11, which makes discussing them confusing. The old TT10, Season's Pick Formosa Fannings, was discontinued. This is the same tea that used to be called TT11 but it's now TT10. (Update, they now renamed it back to TT11. lol.)
This is a radi...

Dragon Well pre-Qing Ming First Grade from Teas Etc
Style: Dragon Well (Long Jing) – Region: Zhejiang, China83 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Feb. 26th, 2010
As a fan of pre-rain Dragon Well I am always anxious to find one with a good flavor for a reasonable price. This one is a great balance of flavor and aroma for a very good price considering it is a pre-Qing Ming tea.
I keep this one on hand throughout the year and look forward to the new harvest.

803 Fine Irish Breakfast Blend from SpecialTeas
Style: Irish Breakfast – Region: Blend97 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Feb. 25th, 2010
This is my everyday breakfast tea. Deeper and darker colored than an English breakfast, this very full-bodied black tea (with a splash of milk) is one of the most satisfying teas I've ever had. Not elegant, but full throttle flavors and finish. I buy it 2# at a time for $32. UPDATE: Special Teas has closed its doors. O...

Roasted Oolong from Upton Tea Imports
Style: Tie Guan Yin – Region: China77 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Feb. 25th, 2010
Aroma is mellow and smooth, with a pleasant woody quality. Stronger in flavor than Upton's similarly-priced non-roasted Tie Guan Yin's. I found this tea to be subtle; it grew on me, and I enjoyed the last cup I made from the sample significantly more than the first. Oddly, I find that much of the flavor sinks to the...

OK, it's been a long time since I've had this tea but I remember it being really disappointing and bitter. Foojoy strikes me as the cheapo brand of chinese teas.. hit or miss.

This is a sort of horrible tasting tea- pungent, minty and bitter is right. But it definitely makes me feel better after I drink it.

There is just something about this tea I don't like! Overly citrus flavor and not satisfying enough. Only feels worth it if you keep telling yourself it's good for you while drinking it.

So I'm already biased because I went into this tea knowing I wouldn't be a fan... plus I'm kind of reviewing this weeks after I had it so my memory is a bit foggy. But it just didn't stand out to me... it is an interesting tea that seems to taste different with every sip- but the flavors are mostly citrus and fruit whi...

I actually kind of like this tea. I agree that it smells weird when you first brew it (if that's meant to be 'malty'...) however it tastes pretty smooth and is overall a satisfying puerh for a box brand you can get in any supermarket.

Season's Pick Organic White Fannings from Upton Tea Imports
Style: White Tea – Region: China57 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5
Feb. 25th, 2010
I find Upton's description of this tea to be very accurate, and I like their brewing instructions.
On the dark end for a white tea, but lighter than some shou mei's. Surprisingly aromatic for fannings! The aroma is bold and earthy, slightly crisp and fresh, and, as Upton describes, there are some nutty tones in th...

Season's Pick Formosa Fannings from Upton Tea Imports
Style: Oolong Tea – Region: Taiwan / Formosa50 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 2/5
Feb. 22nd, 2010
The leaf of this tea is significantly coarser than many grades I have also seen called fannings.
The brewed tea is deep reddish brown. The aroma isn't terribly strong, and is mostly earthy with some nutty tones. Little bitterness, but also, little complexity.
I find that this tea is too mellow for my tastes if ...
