I thought this tea was great. I could rave about it, but will settle for saying I loved the hint of flowers in the smell and the hearty vegetable soup taste it left in my mouth... practically a meal in itself. Now I just need to know, where can I buy some? Sign me up, I'm there!
PS I agree with Alex, definitely n...

My first time sampling Da Yu Ling, this was unexpectedly complex and interesting. It had a gingerbread and molasses quality that I've never before encountered in an oolong.
Dry leaf has a strong floral fragrance, similar to other green oolongs from Taiwan. Upon brewing though, this tea becomes much more interestin...
Oolong Tea from Choice Organic Teas

A sealed sample pack from the Philadelphia Coffee and Tea Festival.
Tea bag is aromaless, and the brewed cup has almost no discernable aroma until I sip it, at which point the aroma is extremely mild. Much more flavorful than aromatic though. The aroma I do notice is a faint tone of rice, with perhaps some suggest...
Taiwan Oriental Beauty (Bai Hao) Oolong Tea from TeaVivre
Style: Oolong Tea – Region: Taiwan / Formosa47 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Dec. 8th, 2013
Dark, severely roasted dry tea, and brown color brew. Taste is plain, not particularly harsh, but without any floral overtones. Very unexciting but not particularly unpleasant either, just acceptable. I feel, longer brewing time should be avoided. A second steep was not much different from the first one.

Green, amber, without excessive grassy astringency and bitterness, with interesting, intriguing flavor evoking forbidden, undesirable, queer associations, with some mawkishness when cooled. Will drink with care. The second steep, without adding fresh tea, was more pleasant.

Dry leaves look as if green tea, however, the brew is light brown, slightly lighter color than Auspicious Ayame (a discontinued by Teavana oolong, my benchmark for Oolongs for now), good floral taste when cooled, but not as complex as Auspicious Ayame’s.
I brewed it 8 min. as the color did not seem dark enough whi...

This tea was top-notch and was definitely the strongest of the Taiwanese oolongs I've tried yet from TeaVivre, both in aroma and flavor. Very bold flavor, yet while having a clear liquor, smooth mouthfeel, and refined floral fragrance, without any off qualities.
Dry leaf is tightly rolled and looks dark green with ...
Superfine Taiwan Qing Xiang Dong Ding Oolong Tea from TeaVivre
Style: Oolong Tea – Region: Taiwan / Formosa90 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Nov. 12th, 2013
A very green (modern green style) oolong of very good quality! TeaVivre informes me that "Qing Xiang" means the tea is unroasted; I've seen this term refer to the floral fragrance of a green oolong--and this tea definitely delivers on such a claim. Yet another top-quality tea from TeaVivre!
The dry leaf is very gr...
Dong Ding Oolong from Tradition

Beautiful jade green oolong with low oxidation and a bright, clear aroma and flavor. The natural sweetness is amazing! Aroma mirrors the sweetness but has distinct floral notes.
I have become very impressed by this brand, and the quality of their teas for very reasonable prices. One of my local Asian markets often ...

The aroma of this oolong is sweet and creamy with notes of fresh vegetation and lilacs. There is also a hint of nuttiness. Once it is brewed the aroma is still really sweet and creamy but it also has notes of green beans and a tiny hint of chestnut.
The taste is really sweet and really creamy, delightfully so! It i...

Very nice lightly roasted oolong with pleasant aroma and aftertaste. Full bodied and filled with interesting notes that remind me of tart baked apples, with hints of cinnamon and caramel. Second steeping of the leaves yields a bit more woodiness, and hints of walnut. A very interesting and nice oolong that I look forwa...

The aroma is potent, a little too potent for my liking. Like old orchids mixed with malt and a touch of smoke. Once steeped the aroma is like tobacco and pine mixed with smoke.
The taste is like a humidor, bitter and piney with too much tobacco taste. On a second steep the taste is better with more sweetness and le...

I'll start with that this tea was a gift. I usually drink an Assam or Yunnan. I don't have much experience with Oolongs. Pale amber/yellow color. The green part of the mix certainly moderates the flavor. Subtle and smooth. This should be a great choice for an Oolong fan.

I enjoyed this oolong but, in contrast to the Dong Ding I recently sampled from TeaVivre, it did not jump out at me as outstanding quality, and it was perhaps a bit too smooth or mild for my tastes. I also found it was comparable in overall character to other examples of Ali Shan oolong that I've gotten for a much low...

The aroma of this oolong is very mild, not really vegetal but more like fresh vegetation growing on a spring day. It is also floral and a touch like fresh hay. Once brewed the aroma is much stronger and more floral, especially lilacs.
The tea is very mild, a touch vegetal with a bit of green beans and pine needles....

Definitely among the best oolongs I've sampled. Exceedingly pleasant, easy to brew and drink, and I'd imagine it would also be being pretty accessible.
This tea is marked as "moderately roasted"; it seems to tend slightly toward the greener side., close to what I've seen called a "traditional green" oolong, or a li...

The aroma is full of chestnuts and orchids, once brewed it retains its original aroma but brings in more roasted quality.
The flavor is mild and more green than I usually prefer my Tie Guan Yin, but it is still delicious.

My mother really loved oolong tea, and first introduced me to this one as a recommendation since she first found it in a local Asian market. She loved the convenience of the foil wrapped sachets that made it convenient for her to stick in her purse when traveling, and I came to love the clean, simple, green oolong flav...
