Sencha Green Tea from MajaTei
Style: Sencha – Region: ?????53 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Jan. 15th, 2015
Not the most exciting sencha, but not the worst either. Dry leaf consists of big, intact pieces of leaf, a fairly rich green color, looks a little more like bancha than some sencha though. The leaf is not very aromatic, and this doesn't change much when the tea is steeped.
Produces a cup that is quite weak for a s...

Nice, relaxing flavor. Wishing there was more of a description on the box as to what region this "green tea" is from. I am a lover of tea but inexperienced in rating. I am skeptical about the "realness" of the tea unless Lindsay Gardens can provide more information.

For the second time since I began recording here, I found a green tea that tastes good but that causes a tickle/tension in my throat. I won't be getting this one again, but if you've never had an (allergic?) reaction like this, then it's a good sencha to try.
The color is brightly green, and there is a surprisingly ...

I feel a little bad rating this so low because it's not that bad a tea--but there are so many better options out there that I feel like I can't find any justification for rating it higher. This tea has little scent and barely any flavor, and it doesn't even have enough of a kick to justify drinking it purely for the ca...

Unfortunately, the first disappointing tea I've had from Numi. It tastes generic and bland. I haven't tried many decaffeinated teas so I don't know how this compares, but I'm quite unimpressed. Meh.

Thanks Brytta for this one! A flat tea bag, filled with broken-leaf tea. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised.
The aroma is pretty flat, but there are some hints of cinnamon, and some light herbaceous notes. Flavor is clean and crisp, a light bitterness, and not much sweetness or sourness. The...
Green Tea from Lipton Tea
Style: Green Tea – Region: ?????37 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 1/5 Value: 4/5

I have typically found there to be something unpleasant in the taste of this tea--whether it's astringency or the hint of something chemical introduced during the packaging process I don't know, but I don't care for it. Reducing the steeping time to a minute or less seems to help a bit, but then I'm left with a tea tha...

Hojicha is another one of those teas that's great to serve to people who don't care for bitterness and astringency in their tea. The roasting process removes both many of the astringents and much of the caffeine, leaving this a calming experience on the palate. This hojicha in particular is one that I would consider de...

Given that this is an extremely affordable green tea, I really wish I liked it more. I really enjoy matcha, but this mixture with regular green tea is a bit bitter. It's best to keep it to a short steeping and then add cream and sugar. Though I will point out that the second and third cup actually had fewer problems th...

Yesterday I tried the Organic Green Tea from Trader Joe's and I thought it was terrible, and poured it out. I was expecting this tea to be even worse, as it's decaf, and was completely floored to find that I actually liked it better.
I noticed as soon as I took out the tea bag that it was more aromatic...I could ac...
Gunpowder Green Tea - Temple of Heaven from Numi Organic Tea
Style: Gunpowder Green Tea – Region: ?????70 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5

The only gunpowder tea I have ever had in a tea bag, and was among the better examples of gunpowder tea that I've tried, competing even against a lot of loose leaf (much better than the generic boxed stuff sold cheaply in most Chinatowns and Asian markets). Served in the little cafe in the middle of Franklin and Marsh...

I love that this tea is organic and *extremely* affordable, so I wish I liked it more. It goes bitter far too easily, though. I also wish it listed the style of green tea. However, it's well worth giving a shot to see whether or not you like it. A little sugar helps, but I prefer teas where this isn't necessary.

Eh. Meh.
It's better than their black tea - but that's not saying much. I get this for free at the office - and I would pick this over Lipton Black (The tea that jolts like cawfee) any day.
Inexpensive and drinkable - but there are plenty of better green teas out there - and some are only a tad more money.

This is an UNFLAVORED 100 % Natural Green Tea, that provides good aroma and with proper steeping, excellent flavor that does not require sweeter, although enhanced with a little pure Stevia.

A 3 minute or so steep was good for me with this tea, which brewed to an amber color. It reminds me of teas I drank and enjoyed while living in Japan (though this style is actually from China). The smell, pleasantly "grassy", is muted until your face is in the cup, but very nice. It feels, for me, like a tea of nostalg...

The aroma of the dry leaves is very pleasingly fruity and grassy; however, the fruitiness transforms into a mellow floral the moment hot water hits the leaves. The first steeping is very grassy and noticeably savory with a slight—yet not unpleasant—bitterness. In the first steeping, floral and sweet tastes are some...

This tastes like a typical low-quality green tea. I don't usually like green tea very much. I like this better than higher quality green teas, but nothing stands out to me about it. It has a very mild flavor. I added cream and sugar.

Oh my gosh, I loved this tea! This is on my list of next tea purchases, alongside barley tea. I was really surprised how much this tea reminded me of barely tea, scent-wise, and I enjoyed it's dark roasty tones. Its quality was beyond what I usually expect from a tea bag.

I tried this one in the dining hall at Haverford college; yay.
This is a roasted kukicha, making it both hojicha and kukicha, and I think it's dark roasted enough that it is more like typical hojicha than typical (green) kukicha or twig tea. It also contains quite a lot of leaf, not just twig, again making it more ...
