Decent tea - got in a gift basket, but would consider buying it.

My local Indian Market was out of the Ahmad Kalami Assam, so I picked this one up instead. Quite different in flavor and aroma, but still an excellent value.
Brewed at 3 to 4 minutes maximum, and you get a bold, robust flavor and aroma, but with less complexity and maltiness than the Kalami Assam. The color is extr...
Apple Refresh from Ahmad Tea
Style: Fruit Black Tea – Region: Blend40 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 2/5
Feb. 28th, 2014
Of all four of Ahmad's fruit-flavored black teas, this is the one I liked the least. It has a fairly artificial apple flavoring...it does not smell at all like an actual apple, but rather, like the "green apple" candy flavor, familiar to me from my childhood.
I don't know if Ahmad uses a different base tea for thei...
Lemon & Lime Twist from Ahmad Tea
Style: Fruit Black Tea – Region: Blend90 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Feb. 21st, 2014
I think this is by far the best lemon tea I've had in a bag! I really can't wait to get more.
Because it's atypical of me to like any type of flavored tea, especially lemon, I feel that my liking this tea *a lot* is substantial.
I brewed it on the light side for 3 minutes, and was elated with the results: a f...
Strawberry Sensation Black Tea from Ahmad Tea
Style: Fruit Black Tea – Region: Blend50 / 100 Aroma: 4/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Feb. 21st, 2014
Aroma is, well, very strawberry-ey. Smells initially like strawberry and little else, a little like strawberry jam or strawberry shortcake...not so much like fresh strawberries.
The base tea is not as evident, aroma-wise, but it shines through in the flavor: bold, with a bit of bite. Brews a rich brown color, but ...
Lemon & Lime Twist from Ahmad Tea
Style: Fruit Black Tea – Region: Blend53 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Feb. 15th, 2014
An interesting change of pace; not my favorite.
Much more lime than lemon in the aroma; this is no standard lemon black tea. The base tea is bold, strong, and malty. The overall effect is a very edgy cup, completely unlike how adding lemon usually takes the edge off a strong black tea.
Nice, and interesting, bu...
Peach & Passion Fruit from Ahmad Tea
Style: Fruit Black Tea – Region: Blend77 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Feb. 13th, 2014
It's a select group of fruit-flavored teas that I like, and it's even less frequent that there's an inexpensive one in a tea bag that is among my favorites--but this is one of these teas.
Aroma is fruity but pungent and deep; the fruitiness is not transient or fleeting, but rather is persistent, and accompanied by d...
Ceylon (Ceylon Orange Pekoe) from Ahmad Tea
Style: Ceylon Black Tea – Region: Sri Lanka / Ceylon70 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Feb. 4th, 2014
I've got a soft spot for this offering from Ahmad after stumbling across it when I was living in northern Norway and was hankering after a good brew. This is a very good example of Ceylonese tea, typical bright colour, moderate maltiness and very refreshing. To me it's a lovely summer tea and well worth having in the p...

Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: Blend57 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5

I am not a fan or Earl Grey - and I could not tell by the tea-bag packet (sachet) that this would have an orangey-citursy-bergamotlike twang to it. As a result, I like the other Ahmads I have tried better (English Breakfast).
Decent - but not a fave.
Ceylon (Ceylon Orange Pekoe) from Ahmad Tea

This tea is perfect. Nice blend and strong taste. Smooth and fine like Ceylon tea should be.

I liked this one - not too tannic but a little bit of a bite and a caffeinated buzz for the morning. One bag easily made 2 dark infusions. No issues here.
That said - the Ahmad Darjeeling is much better - but i love Darjeeling in the first place.
Darjeeling (teabag) from Ahmad Tea
Style: Darjeeling Black Tea – Region: Darjeeling, India77 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5

I really enjoyed this bagged version of Darjeeling - and I am a Darjeeling lover. This one is not nearly as bitter as some, and really fresh smelling and tasting for a bagged tea. Took a solid 3-4 minutes to steep - so give it some time and enjoy. I did add sweetener to it - but you certainly don't need to. Very tr...

Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend93 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Dec. 26th, 2013
One of my very favorite teas, robust, hearty, with a subtle cardamom flavor that is not overwhelming. I like this tea brewed strong in the morning but occasionally drink it in mid-afternoon as well. It makes a nice gift as well, since many people haven't tried it.
Darjeeling (Loose) from Ahmad Tea
Style: Darjeeling Black Tea – Region: Darjeeling, India70 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5

This tea has a sweet aroma. I thought it was kind of mild and watery at first (after brewing it for 8 minutes) but as I get further down in the cup, it seems to taste fuller. It has a kind of sharp, sweet flavor. It's surprisingly astringent for a Darjeeling tea. It leaves my mouth feeling kind of fuzzy. I added cream ...

Like most of Ahmad's Teas, impressive quality. Much darker in color than Ahmad's Darjeeling tea bags though; a surprisingly different tea. Both are good, but this is much more complex.
Dry leaf has a very pleasant aroma, with a strong suggestion of wintergreen, rice, and muscat grape. This is one of the most arom...
Ceylon Tea OPA from Ahmad Tea

Very impressed with quality and value of this tea. Ahmad teas continues to surprise me with nice flavors and aromas that more expensive brands often miss. I first came across their Darjeeling, which has become a staple when I visit my local Indian Market, and have since had the chance to try a variety of their other te...

Amazed at the quality of tea for a great price. Nice blend that brews up consistently with a pleasant aroma and flavor, showing off the characteristics most sought in Ceylon/Sri Lankan teas. Bold, smooth and slightly astringent. Brisk, bright and two good steeps from the leaves. Classic!

This is not the sort of tea I would normally enjoy, but given how much I love Ahmad tea, I was really curious and had to try it, and was surprised that I like it a lot more than similar berry-flavored green teas.
It really does smell like blueberries, which I actually didn't like. I love blueberries but I don't par...
English Afternoon from Ahmad Tea
Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: Blend60 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Aug. 17th, 2013
The aroma is pleasant and mild with a hint of Bergamot.
The flavor was slightly bitter and citrusy from the Bergamot and Ceylon, but other than that there is no real flavor. I was not overwhelmed with the flavor and a little disappointed.
Darjeeling (teabag) from Ahmad Tea
Style: Darjeeling Black Tea – Region: Darjeeling, India80 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5

This is undoubtedly the best Darjeeling I've tried in tea bags yet, and it's surprisingly affordable. It's a broken-leaf tea, but I think it surpasses even "full-leaf" teas in pyramid sachets, like those from Two Leaves Tea or Novus Tea.
Very green character the greenest I've ever had from a tea bag. Is this pure ...
English Breakfast (Teabags) from Ahmad Tea
Style: English Breakfast – Region: Blend53 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Jun. 21st, 2013
Everything about this tea is fair, I was not overwhelmed by the aroma or the taste. Sadly it was all bland. The aroma was malty and there was a slightly malty taste. I added a bunch of cream and it brought out some of the richer maltiness of the tea.

This tea is fantastic, absolutely fantastic! I might be more than a little partial since Cardamon is possibly my favorite spice to add to tea with sharp competition with Star Anise.
The aroma is a very pleasing blend of the spice and smooth base tea, neither overpower the other.
The same can be said about the ta...
English Breakfast (Teabags) from Ahmad Tea

I thought this tea was okay. Nothing too crazy.
It was a bitter hot and less so as it cooled off, so I'd be more inclined to make iced tea out of it. There wasn't much of a smell, which I feel is pretty typical for most English Breakfasts I've had anyway.
I'll stick with other brands by Ahmad -- some of their lo...

Style: Darjeeling Black Tea – Region: Darjeeling, India53 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 3/5

The aroma is sweet, it is hard to describe it as anything other than that, it is sweet and very pleasant.
I am beginning to think I am not a fan of Darjeeling unless it is in a blend, because this is the second Darjeeling I have had and not been fond of.
The taste was tart, bitter and a little muddied. I am wil...
