I've only chugged one other green tea of the Mao Feng type (a Tazo bagged offering), and enjoyed that, so I figured I'd try a bigger-leaf, sacheted version. This is one of the best green teas I've had, lots of personality, and mostly worth the slight premium one pays when shoveling a stack of bills across the counter ...

Really great tea! The aroma is fruity and floral and the taste is floral as well without tasting soapy at all. It is also very smooth and thick bodied with little astringency. Overall a very wonderful tea and I would buy it again.

Half-litre pot at home, made from a sample included in the tea company's Advent Tea Calendar (2020) and consisting of leaves of green mao feng tea. Pours clear pale straw (against white china) with no sediment. Clear aroma of green tea, mild but with notes of beans and fart - I guess I will never become a fan of the sc...

Even though this isn't a Stash tea, it was well stashed—just a couple packets jammed discreetly in the middle of a bunch of bags of Bigelow Green at a conference, and only the first morning. Fortunately I noticed and grabbed them: one for there, one to bring home.
I'm not much for detecting subtleties, and pro...

The dry tea in the bag is chopped quite fine, but smells really nice. Once the water's added, the aroma of the young tips comes through very clearly, smelling very similar to silver needle white teas.
The first taste is surprisingly sweet with a strong vegetal finish. The flavor is strong even while hot, but there's...

I might still have to work out some things with brewing this tea, because this second attempt tastes very different from the first.
It has a strong vegetal aroma and very little sweetness. It reminds me a little bit of Young Hyson right now which seems strange. After all, this tea is supposed to be mild whereas Youn...

Brewed tea in 9-10oz of water at 200F for 3 min first steep.
It had a nutty scent kind of like long jin (dragonwell). I could tell from the scent of the liquor and the wet leaves that this would be a top-quality tea.
The flavor is actually somewhat simple, but very pure. I get nuttiness/toastyness akin to the sce...

The aroma is sweet, a blend of delicate cherry and a delicate floral and fresh vegetation. Sniffing this tea reminds me of the aroma of spring rain and refreshing cool air, it is very evocative and delicate.

A mix of strong vegetal (I would say green bean and a hint of spinach) and sesame seeds. There is a finish of yeasty bread and cherries.
The beginning of the taste is sweet, gently sweet like honeysuckle nectar and sesame seeds. It reminds me a of the aftertaste you get when eating sesame Halva but with a vegetal qu...

While I hate to review one of Teavivre's teas so poorly since I'm usually a big fan, this particular tea was not for me! This tea didn't have much of a smell or a taste. I brewed it a couple of times, with different temperatures and steeping lengths, each time it was the same, tasting more like hot water than tea to ...

Starting with the dry leaves, I have to say this tea is beautiful. Bright green whole leaves and buds with a slight silvery fuzz, the aroma that comes from them is fresh and slightly floral, specifically it reminds me of yarrow.
The color of the liquid is a wonderful citrine color and the aroma is delightful. It re...

A decent bagged tea available everywhere (and I mean EVERYWHERE) that Starbucks is served - offices, Barnes & Noble, airports, even the local library - I can get a quick cup of this in a pinch. Vegetal and green - a bit "dry" tasting - so I add sweetener sometimes. (For shame, I know!) I love green teas but this is j...

Very smooth, but not aromatic enough for me when brewed.
As usual with TeaVivre, the dry leaf is intensely aromatic, suggesting sweet and umami flavors. The leaf looks to consist exclusively of tips, with two very tiny leaves attached to a bud, the leaves hardly bigger than than the bud itself. Upon brewing though...

I was expecting to like this tea a lot, and I just didn't. It wasn't terrible, but I liked it considerably less than a number of much cheaper teas, and than most of the other green teas I've sampled from TeaVivre.
Wiry dry leaf has an intense aroma, very fresh, and suggestive of savory qualities, but also highly ve...

This tea has a light, clean, mellow taste. I'm not sure I would call it sweet, but it is definitely not bitter either.
The leaves are long and thin with a vegetal aroma that produces a light yellow color. Steeped at 194F for about 2 minutes, this tea has a very pleasing taste!

A blast from the past--somehow I forgot to post this review, so enjoy it and miss SpecialTeas!

Dry Leaf: I get a sweet vegetal aroma. I can even see someone say grassy.
Wet Leaf: I get a vegetal aroma almost like a boiled green bean or something close to that.
Liquor: Clear and pale.
Taste: I get a light refreshing sweet vegetal flavor. The broth gives your tongue a slight dryness on your tongue that is nice....

This is the best green tea that I've had yet, and possibly my favorite tea! Paired with lunch on a hot day, I was extremely satisfied by its taste! It was refreshing and smooth, and had no bitterness whatsoever ( which is one of my usual complaints with tea). While it is a little pricey, I feel like this tea is wort...

Short summary: very smooth, extremely pleasing flavor, not the strongest aroma, and picky on brewing temperature. Exceptionally smooth for this price.
Dry leaf is intensely aromatic, and packed very loosely. A lot of leaf (by volume) is needed to produce a normal-strength cup.
I found this tea was picky about b...

This tea was served to me, Gong Fu style, by Evan. Dry leaf was extremely aromatic.
I found it to be simultaneously strong and refined. The other mao feng green teas I've tried have either been relatively coarser-tasting, with more astringency, or smooth but too weak. This was a powerful tea with a bold flavor, b...

The dry leaf has an intense fragrance that is more food-like than tea-like, and suggests a savory dish, but also suggests sweetness.
Upon brewing this tea, however, it is less savory than the aroma suggests: mild, sweet, mellow. Surprisingly dark color, a brownish amber, but very clear. Slightly vegetal. Subdued,...
