one of the best chais i have ever tasted! in fact it has ruined me for most other brands. smooth, yet still enjoyably spicy. and it smells amazing.

Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: ?????33 / 100 Aroma: 4/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 1/5
May. 20th, 2010
Exceptionally lemony and citrusy for an Earl Grey...there's only a weak suggestion of the usual bergamot aroma. The aroma is more like candied lemon than Earl Grey tea, and it has an artificial quality to it. The black tea presence is entirely unremarkable...although this tea brews a dark color, there is little other...

Style: Herbal Tea – Region: ?????70 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5

This is one of my favorite of the Celestial Seasonings brand, lacking the tartness of the zingers and the weird aftertastes of some of the ginsengs. The taste is simple and a bit bland, suggestive of camomile. I prefer it with a little more mint and often add a sprig of fresh mint in the summer or a sprinkle of dried i...

Style: Peppermint Tea – Region: ?????53 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5

Less of the strong peppermint aroma than most peppermint teas...very dark in color, unusually so...more of the general leafy/herbaceous aroma. Not at all sour and very little bitterness or sweetness...this is primarily an aromatic tea.
Noticeably more complexity than Lipton's peppermint. Among bagged peppermint te...
African Honeybush, Mandarin and Orange from Twinings
Style: Flavored Honeybush – Region: ?????43 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 2/5
May. 12th, 2010
Aroma mostly of orange...no noticeable honeybush characteristics in the aroma, although the honeybush imparts a reddish brown color and a pleasant full-bodied character to this tea. The orange aroma has very little complexity. Nondescript flavor...not really sweet, sour, or bitter...this is a rather neutral tea that ...

Well, this is kind of....OK. Doesn't have the complexity of the really good chais, merely a mild cinnamon flavor with some overlays. Not unpleasant.

Aroma spicey, astonishingly complex for only having one ingredient...the aroma reminds me of many Chinese stores as this spice is commonly used in Chinese food and has a way of permeating things (in a pleasant way). Like western anise (licorice-like) but with a woody quality absent from that spice, and more of a fres...

Unremarkable base black tea in this blend...not very aromatic. Fruity aroma is natural and pleasant, however...fairly strong but not overwhelming. Flavor is mostly sour...not so much that it's too sour but that there isn't really anything other than sourness in the flavor.
I found this tea to be disappointing. A ...
English Breakfast Black Tea from Bigelow Tea
Style: English Breakfast – Region: ?????57 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
May. 2nd, 2010
In my opinion, this is the best straight black tea from Bigelow and it really stands out among the rest of their offerings. It's a fairly powerful black tea, but it also has some complexity in the aroma...some of the tones suggest that there's a bit of Darjeeling mixed in with whatever else is this blend.
Fairly bi...
Peach Mango White Tea (White Tea with Island Mango and Peach) from Lipton Tea
Style: Miscellaneous Blend – Region: ?????37 / 100 Aroma: 4/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 2/5
Apr. 30th, 2010
aroma: powerful, fruity. peach with a hint of something meaty/salty that i assume is their attempt at mango. smells very artificial.
flavor: despite the powerful aroma of the teabag, surprisingly little flavor was transferred to the liquor. not awful, but this isn't a tea i'll bother revisiting.
Organic Pure Green Tea (Premium Green Tea Organic) from Bigelow Tea
Style: Green Tea – Region: ?????37 / 100 Aroma: 2/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5
Apr. 29th, 2010
Brewed for 4 minutes with water that had cooled well below boiling, it brews an opaque golden color.
Aroma is mostly flat. There's a hint of a very pleasant floral quality, but it's overshadowed by a cardboard-like quality that basically ruins it for me. Ignoring the aroma, the flavor is good. Slightly tangy, wit...
Orange Ginger Mint from Republic of Tea
Style: Herbal Tea – Region: ?????77 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Apr. 28th, 2010
This is by far my favorite tea from Republic of Tea yet. Strong and complex aroma, mostly herbaceous with a bit of spice: thyme is dominant, but with a lot of other things going on...the ginger and anise are also particularly noticeable. Very full-bodied--among the richest herbal teas I've tried. Close to my ideal a...

Apr. 28th, 2010
The package recommends to brew for 4-6 minutes...I brewed for four. The black tea in this teabag was exceptionally weak--the cup was a clear reddish color, and I brewed with only about 6oz. of water. However, the lack of a bold black tea presence was made up for by a strong aroma of spice.
There are different spic...
Constant Comment® from Bigelow Tea
Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: ?????57 / 100 Aroma: 4/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Apr. 25th, 2010
In my opinion this is the best among Bigelow's flavored teas, although my favorite from Bigelow is one of their herbals--sweet dreams.
It's funny, I tend not to like orange spice teas, but I like this one. It's balanced: none of the aromas overpower the others. There's a nice amount of strength and bitterness, but...
Sleepytime Extra from Celestial Seasonings
Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: ?????90 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Apr. 22nd, 2010
So, I really love this tea. I will say, the warning label is serious, especially if you have never had the sleepytime extra, you will want to make sure you are ready for bed when you drink it. It is very relaxing and even though it is potent, it is so in a very mild manner (if that makes sense). It is a very light tea,...

I was expecting something really wonderful when I bought this, but the flavor is a little flat and a little to bitter. I wouldn't turn it down if it was offered to me, but I wouldn't buy it again.

This is a good 'railroad' tea (add milk and sugar) if you don't want to go to the trouble of making your own or don't keep a variety of whole spices. Rather pricey though. Sugar or honey brings out the spice flavor.

Wegmans green tea is one of the better cheap green teas. It has a basic green tea taste. I could drink it every morning. It's a good stand-by, especially for those of us on a budget. It is really cheap but has a good flavor.

I was not expecting to like this one, as I tend to avoid sweetening my tea, and I also don't really like the taste of Stevia. However, I was pleasantly surprised.
The lemon quality of this tea is muted--which is important because lemon myrtle in particular has a tendency to overpower other aromas. The aroma is ver...
Zen Filterbags from Tazo Tea
Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: ?????43 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Apr. 12th, 2010
Flat, dry aroma, mostly of straw and leaf...little fruity lemon aroma and more of the muted straw-like quality of the lemongrass. Very bitter. Crisp but without being fresh or cooling as I had hoped from this tea. I also found the tea to be weak in aroma.
This was disappointing, both on its own and relative to wh...
Passionfruit Tulsi Tea from Organic India
Style: Herbal Tea – Region: ?????63 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Apr. 10th, 2010
Aroma blends the familiar clove and basil characteristics of Tulsi with a rich tropical fruitiness from the passionfruit (not overdone, thankfully)...but there's also a surprising herbal quality, suggestive of Thyme or Oregano. Pretty good for something in a teabag; reasonably priced relative to quality.
Still, con...
Orange Mint Tulsi Tea from Organic India
Style: Herbal Tea – Region: ?????67 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Mar. 26th, 2010
This tea is interesting in that it tastes very similar to "orange spice" teas, but it doesn't contain any spices; I suspect the tulsi is contributing the tones of cinnamon and clove. The spearmint adds a slightly different twist.
Full-bodied and with a smooth flavor.
I'm not sure how I feel about the presence of...
Decaf Lotus Blossom Green (Lotus) from Tazo Tea
Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: ?????50 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 3/5

Brews a dark golden-orange, dark for a green tea. Aroma is flat and subdued; there's not even a hint of floral quality. Surprisingly full-bodied, however, for a decaffeinated tea. More flavorful than aromatic.
Not what I expected; I was expecting something light and floral, but this is a heavier tea, disappointin...
Tea of Inquiry from Republic of Tea
Style: Genmaicha – Region: ?????77 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 3/5
Mar. 25th, 2010
I've always found green tea to be a little astringent but I love the way the nutty/charred flavor of the toasted rice cuts through the earthiness of the green tea. There's a faint taste of burning matches, a little iron, grass. Good stuff.
