English Breakfast (Loose) from Ahmad Tea
Style: English Breakfast – Region: Blend70 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5

My daughter came back from London with this tea packaged in little cubic tins featuring buses and other London sights. As such, my "value" rating is lower than it could be because she paid a tourist premium at a souvenir shop. I'd buy this without hesitation for normal American store prices.
One of the better lo...

A light liquoring color combines with a slight flowery aroma. Medium astringency and moderate tannins make for a pleasant yet bold experience. This mass-market tea aims for a broad appeal and achieves it.

English Breakfast (Teabags) from Ahmad Tea

Part of an Ahmad Tea assortment purchased at a local Marshall's.
Aroma was good, however, I found it quite average and lacking any distinction from the run of the mill brands at the grocery store. I find Ahmad's other offerings are quite good for the price, such as English Tea No. 1, Ceylon, and the green tea.

Harrods English Breakfast Tea from Harrods

We were in London, at Harrods, so had to buy something. The English Breakfast tea is decent and comes in a nice tea can. Overpriced by our standards (due to strong GBPound). But other than the novelty of Harrods, for a good cuppa I'm happy with many of the Taylors of Harrogate brands.

Served at Notting Hill coffee shop in Lewes, DE.
An outstanding English Breakfast blend: robust and strong, with a rich and complex aroma. The aroma is slightly malty, and has noticeable wintergreen notes.
Flavor is very bold and rich; flavor is both bitter and savory, and astringency is fairly strong; be carefu...

I recently have started drinking tea a few months ago. This blend is my favorite, smooth, flavorful, and I drink it daily. I boil water, pour over teabag and let steep 3-4 mins. I usually don't add anything but when I do ill toss in a sugar cube. Im still a newbie but compared to other store bought brands it isn't that...

A classic, prototypical English Breakfast tea of average quality. Goes well with milk and probably better suited to people who (unlike me) drink their tea with milk.
A CTC (broken, mechanically-processed) tea; the dry leaf isn't terribly aromatic, but has a pleasant slightly malty aroma.
Produces a very dark cup...

This is a medium strength blend with a sharp taste that reminds me of tobacco. It definitely likes some milk and sugar in it. However, I try to avoid adding sugar to anything, so I also mostly avoid this tea blend.

This is my everyday black tea, as it's a few hundred times better than Lipton and still affordable. It's okay on its own, but I usually add cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, sugar and milk to make my own chai. I don't find it to be too strong or astringent, but I don't steep it for very long and I never go for a seco...

Okay tea. Pretty normal English Breakfast. I have loose leaf English Breakfast, not tea bag, and it's just okay. Not much flavor.

Definitely one of the best English Breakfast teas I've sampled. A somewhat subdued tea that was slow to infuse, but became quite robust if steeped long enough. Quite different from a typical breakfast tea.
The dry leaf, which is fairly large pieces of leaf that are tightly rolled, smelled slightly of cocoa, but wa...

The Black Lotus (English Breakfast) from Butiki Teas

I was so curious about The Black Lotus. Even the name is awesome. The reviews are great. It arrived here fast – loving the design of the bag. So sad Butiki is closing right when I am discovering them.
I brewed this twice – the first time I must have done it too hot a steep and too little as it wasn’t quite str...

Very nice - i like this one - comes in loose and sachets (not bags - I don't think) and I tried it in a sachet form. very nice aroma and easy to drink with or without sweetener. It is caffeinated but not like a "Lipton Black" - much more mellow. Not as good as a straight Darjeeling (first flush, baby!) but a good so...

Wow does this have caffeine in it or what? Dark and Black - brews up quickly and easy to find everywhere that carries Starbbucks. I usually opt another Tazo blend to this - but if it was this or Lipton? I'd take Awake for sure. Very strong black tea.

Tried this one while on the go using a travel tea mug. I'll have to give it a proper tasting later, at home, but so far I'm pleasantly surprised! More subdued than most black teas, and not bitter at all (though I also made a point to steep it briefly).
Update: Okay, I got to try this again at work. It's definitely a...

Surprisingly not bad! This is the first time I've tried a decaffeinated tea and I wasn't expecting much, but it was actually pretty nice. The level of bitterness was very low, and I swear I taste just a hint of cinnamon in this. It creates an all-around pleasant cup, even without cream.
Also interesting was the stee...

Just yesterday I brewed a pot of Twinings English Breakfast Tea (loose leaf) for an impromptu tea party with my sister who is a coffee drinker. She loved it! It's flavor is malty with pleasant notes of nuts and toast. Both comforting and energizing, this tea is great for a morning wake up brew or a soothing pick me up ...

I was surprised to find this tea tasted completely different from the caffeinated version of Twinings English Breakfast. The caffeinated tea, I found bland and uninteresting.

Opened a fresh package of this wonderful loose leaf blend, and enjoyed the fresh aroma of the dry leaves: earthy, slightly smoky and a light honey scent as well. Just over three minutes as a steep with boiling water. Beautiful color and a malty aroma begins to develop.

Bond Street English Breakfast Blend from Upton Tea Imports

A very robust blend with deep flavor and light aroma. Not a full leaf blend, but rather fine chop makes this brew quick. Longer steep brings a bitterness that is unpleasant, so just 3 minutes is recommended.
Dark and brisk - just what an English Breakfast Blend should be.

I'm not sure if I'll ever be crazy about black teas. I got a sampler pack of Twinings black teas so that I could try out my tastes, and this one was the most *meh* to me. Neither the aroma nor the taste were my style. I think I'll bring the remainder of these to work for others to use.

This is the only single estate, pure Ceylon that is strong enough to be called a Breakfast tea. Excellent flavor and bold, crisp finish. Brews best with 8 oz hot water for 3 minutes.
