Premium Green Decaf Tea from Stash Tea

Solid decaf bagged green tea. Though I like caffeination, I have found I actually often like decaf teas for their flavor.

This is pretty good matcha. Though I don’t normally like extra packing, the single serving sizes kept me from using excessive tea powder. The tea didn’t taste weak.
I am not particularly skilled at making matcha. I liked this one best with a little preheated milk and a little honey.
On the plus side, my two y...

This tea is not bad but it isn’t overwhelming. I generally prefer loose leaf anyway, as a cup of bagged tea often isn’t as strong as I like. It’s fairly easy to avoid bitterness in this tea, but it’s still good not to brew the tea too hot or too long — as is generally true for green teas. Not bad as a potenti...

This combination of matcha and green tea was fairly non-descript. It wasn’t offensive, but it didn’t do much for me. Overbrewing does turn it a bit bitter, so be sure not to leave the bag in excessively. I still have more of the box, so I may update this entry if my opinion changes after a few tries.

This is the second tea I’ve tried that mixes a green tea with matcha powder in a teabag. It wasn’t bad! I enjoyed my second test more than my first. Like the Celestial Seasonings offering that mixes green tea with matcha powder, this tea is better than the average bagged cheap green tea I’ve tried, as it increase...

I’ve decided to try a few blends of matcha with other green tea and started with this brand. Given that I’ve never been overwhelmingly impressed with Celestial Seasonings, it was better than expected!
Though it cannot take the place of an actual matcha craving, the addition of matcha added a bit of sweetness and...

I picked up this tea at a grocery store on a whim. The tea bags appear filled with dust. There is much better tea out there, but this is drinkable if nothing else is available. I may have to bring this to work to share with folks who might like it more. :-)

This a solid quality green tea that resteeps well several times. The leaves start off coiled and they expand each time, so not a lot of tea is needed for a tasty cup. Be sure not to over brew it for the best flavor.

I like this tea. :-) Its flavor reminds me of green teas I had while living in Japan. The tea doesn't go bitter too easily, and it does a great job infusing multiple times. I've gotten four decent cups out of a teaspoon worth of dry leaf. This is no doubt partly due to their being curled. The leaves expand quite a bit.

This was surprisingly good. The flavor had a nice soothing aroma and taste in a "ah, this is the kind of food adults like" sort of way. It strikes me as a particularly good tea for certain brisk days.
The fact that I like it and that I got a decent size bag of loose leaf for about two and a half dollars makes it one...
Jade Cloud (aka Green Jade) from Rishi Tea
Style: Green Tea – Region: Hubei, China70 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5

Not bad, but a bit astringent (almost bitter) to my taste. It has a refreshing quality, too. This tea reminds me a lot of the teas I drank while living in Japan (though it's a Chinese tea).
Certainly worth giving a try. I always like the quality of Rishi teas.

A nice green tea! It has a quality that is both vegetable and not-quite-baked. I'm not entirely sure how to describe this. It tastes similar to teas that I had while in Japan, and which I enjoyed very much there. It seems to have cause a slight tickle in my throat the way that some green teas can. I still need to figur...

Meh. Generic fanning green tea. Not too bad if you include honey, but it can still go bitter. If you have nothing else it's not the worst, but I wouldn't buy it again.

Surprisingly, I found this one acceptably enjoyable. The tea was nothing dazzling, but it wasn't bitter (after steeping briefly) and I got two cups out of it. The second cup was weaker, but still decent. The fannings infuse quickly, so you don't need to keep the bag in for long. I found this in the cupboard of a friend...

After trying it again, I'm redoing my original review of this tea.
This is a very nice Dragon Well. Excellent price for the quality and, so long as you don't let it oversteep, it makes several excellent cups.
This tea infuses quite slowly and tends to look pale. The taste is there, though. Waiting for some steam ...
Matcha Green Tea from Green Foods

Not a bad matcha. I used a little milk and think this would be even better with all milk instead out water. I like this kind of drink creamy. Also felt it needed some sweetness, so I added honey. This set of flavors blended very well. I'm looking forward to trying this tea a number of different ways.

I loved matcha in Japan, but I really need more practice brewing it. This matcha tastes of good quality and has a proper level of sweetness (not overdone). I like it, but I need to try it more to determine how best I like it. I do know that mixing in a little milk first to make a paste before adding the hot water makes...

For the second time since I began recording here, I found a green tea that tastes good but that causes a tickle/tension in my throat. I won't be getting this one again, but if you've never had an (allergic?) reaction like this, then it's a good sencha to try.

Not a bad tea, but not as impressive as other Dragonwells I've had, actually. It went bitter too easily (and the infusion was still pretty weak) and it wasn't grassy enough for my taste. Worth trying, but not quite as good as I was hoping.

Unfortunately, the first disappointing tea I've had from Numi. It tastes generic and bland. I haven't tried many decaffeinated teas so I don't know how this compares, but I'm quite unimpressed. Meh.

I actually found this tea to be refreshing and clean. It's simple, but not in a way that's bitter or at all unpleasant. I brewed it a short time at 175 °F and was pleasantly surprised by how very drinkable it is. The aroma is very light and the infusion is a pale green. Its a bit plain by itself, so I recommend drinki...

I found this at $5.75 for a 7 ounce bag, making it some of the cheapest loose leaf tea I've ever found. Excellent value!
That said, unfortunately, the tea goes bitter far too easily. The leaves are cut very small, allowing it to diffuse quickly. At the bottom of my cup are dark green fannings that couldn't be strain...

Given that this is an extremely affordable green tea, I really wish I liked it more. I really enjoy matcha, but this mixture with regular green tea is a bit bitter. It's best to keep it to a short steeping and then add cream and sugar. Though I will point out that the second and third cup actually had fewer problems th...

I really enjoyed this fresh, smooth tea. Interestingly, I found it quite easy to brew at work, where the hot, filtered water is at a set temperature. I'm still playing around with preparing it at home. Regardless, it has proven a solid, calming cup whether alone or with food.

I could definitely taste a little chestnut and a little grassiness in the flavor and was delighted by the leaves. Shortly after I first brewed this, I noticed a light astringency or bitterness in the aftertaste. As I drank, this finish became smoother and more muted. The same thing happened with the second cup. I belie...
