Hunan (湖南), meaning south of the lake, is a landlocked province in China, towards the southeast. Hunan is named for its location south of Dongting lake, a lake just south of the border of Hunan and Hubei provinces. Hunan has a humid subtropical climate, and borders other tea-producing provinces, including Guangxi to the southwest, Guizhou to the west, Jiangxi to the east, and Hubei to the north.Junshan Yinzhen, a type of yellow tea, originates in Hunan province, on Junshan (君山) island in the middle of Dongting lake.
