Orange Mint Tulsi Tea from Organic India
Style: Herbal Tea – Region: ?????80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Mar. 19th, 2010
Though not a big fan of herb teas, I love this tea. It has a lot of taste, the mix of mint, orange, and tulsi familiar enough (Constant Comment meets peppermint?) yet different from the everyday (the exotic impact of tulsi). I use one bag for two cups after lunch. It provides a robust and interesting finish to the meal...

Luxury Blend Tea from Chai Bora
Style: Black Tea – Region: Tanzania57 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5
Mar. 19th, 2010
I was pleasantly surprised with this teabag; it's just fannings/dust and doesn't look like much, but even the dry teabag is pleasantly aromatic. The name surprised me--I was expecting a kind of spiced tea but then I realized that "Chai Bora" is just the brand name. And "chai" just means tea after all!
The brewed t...

African Solstice from Tea Forte
Style: Flavored Rooibos – Region: Blend57 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5
Mar. 17th, 2010
Smooth and really well-balanced...the aromas of fruit, rooibos, and vanilla blend well; it's hard to tell where one ends and the other begins. A warming tea. Rich aroma but mellow flavor...no bitterness and a surprisingly clean aftertaste.
I was able to make two infusions (3 min. and 5 min.) with a small 8-oz cup,...

Sleepytime Herbal Tea from Celestial Seasonings
Style: Chamomile Blend – Region: Blend67 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5
Mar. 16th, 2010
One of the coziest parts of this tea is the box design with a bear curled up wearing his nightcap! Of course, the tea itself is nicely soothing as well. Perhaps my tastebuds are not as nuanced as the other reviewers- I mostly just taste the chamomile. For me, Sleepytime tea is nice for bedtime, but not something I woul...

Tie-Guan-Yin Oolong First Grade from Upton Tea Imports
Style: Tie Guan Yin – Region: China67 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5
Mar. 16th, 2010
The tightly curled brown leaves unfurl only partially when brewing...producing a tea that's completely clear and golden in color.
Complex aroma, strongly suggesting apricot, and also having some skunky tones, and a hint of olive. Smooth, mellow flavor, contrasting with the aroma, which suggests a sharper tea. No as...

Floral Tie-Guan-Yin Superior Grade from Upton Tea Imports
Style: Tie Guan Yin – Region: China73 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 3/5
Mar. 15th, 2010
Aroma very much like a Dong Ding Jade Oolong, very floral, but with a faint hint of a woody quality absent from those teas; this tea tastes very slightly more oxidized. Very smooth, but leaving a tingling sensation in the mouth. The aroma is very pleasing, but not terribly complex.
Using Upton's instructions I bre...

Formosa Oolong Extra Fancy from Upton Tea Imports
Style: Oolong Tea – Region: Taiwan / Formosa67 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Mar. 12th, 2010
When I bought this tea it was the second-highest-priced grade of the standard "Formosa oolongs" in Upton's catalogue. They've since switched things around and discontinued this tea.
I found this tea, moving up from the lowest grades (TT11-TT17), to be the first one that offered an appreciable difference, the first ...

Tie-Guan-Yin Oolong 2nd Grade from Upton Tea Imports
Style: Tie Guan Yin – Region: China67 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Mar. 11th, 2010
Aroma is subtle and complex, but on the weak side: mostly of peach, with some weaker earthy tones. Flavor is tangy, with little bitterness. The aftertaste has a mild astringency. Thin-bodied.
Following Upton's recommendations I found worked alright--for a first cup. However, I tried to brew a second cup and ther...

Strawberry Vanilla Little Citizens' Herb Tea from Republic of Tea
Style: Flavored Rooibos – Region: Blend23 / 100 Aroma: 4/10 Flavor: 1/5 Value: 1/5
Mar. 10th, 2010
I found this tea to be a bit lacking in flavor and value. I paid $10.50 for the tin of 36 bags, a single bag brews up a weak cup.

Darjeeling from Darvilles of Windsor
Style: Darjeeling Black Tea – Region: Darjeeling, India67 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5
Mar. 10th, 2010
This tea's complexity surprised me! Unusually vegetal for a black tea, with a hint of savory qualities. Dark in color, and full-bodied, but delicate. Fairly bitter, especially in the aftertaste...moderately tannic and astringent.
The aroma of this tea would place it on par with some of the better single-estate Da...

Oolong Choicest Grade from Upton Tea Imports
Style: Oolong Tea – Region: Taiwan / Formosa50 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 2/5
Mar. 10th, 2010
Upton offers a number of different grades of Formosa oolong with only moderate differences in price...this one, by weight, costs less than 50% more than TT11, the "standard grade". Again, the leaf is broken, but in larger pieces than some of the lower grades. The dry leaf has a weak, earthy aroma.
The brewed tea i...

There is just something about red rose that makes it the best black iced tea. It seems to not ever go flat tasting even after hanging in the fridge a few days. Everyone raves about my iced tea, and I just laugh. It's such a bargain.

Vanilla Caramel Black Tea from Bigelow Tea
Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: ?????53 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 1/5
Mar. 9th, 2010
I really like this tea, but I find that I have to use 2 tea bags per cup, otherwise the flavors don't really come out, even though the aroma is heavenly. This about doubles the price of the tea however, and for that price you can buy higher quality.

I'm not much for "flavored" teas, but of those few I like, this is probably my most favorite.
Pleasant, bright flavor, but could stand a stronger black tea as a base.

The best mango and citrus flavored tea I have had yet. Mango is stronger than the citrus, which is very nice. I like to make sun tea with this particular flavor.

An honest mountain Ceylon with clean flavor and aroma. Slightly weak brew, however.
(The Keurig K-Cup version of this Bigelow tea is better than the bag.)

Pomegranate White Tea from Trader Joe's

I am so glad Trader joe's carries a white tea. This is my favorite tea they sell, one bag brews up a pretty strong flavored tea. The pomegranate flavor is very strong, but in a good way.

Strong fruity scent , as the description implys it is heavy on the strawberry and rhubarb scent. The tea is mild in taste, first you taste the tea, then the fruity flavors are noticed. Overall a good tea.

My favorite of the low priced Assam from special tea's. Very rich in flavor, though if you are a lover of malty Assam you will find this tea to be lacking a truly strong malty-ness. If you are like me then I suggest Yamamotoyama's orange pekoe.
Overall a good tea.
