Osmanthus Green Oolong from Music City Tea

Style: Osmanthus Tea – Region: ?????

87 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Jan. 11th, 2017

This is a very nice pure tea. The osmanthus flowers are a nice complement, but it's the oolong tea that shines. Heads up: the tea expands a *lot* in water, so use a smaller scoop than normal --- maybe a half size? Also, it resteeps very well.

Joy Tea from Music City Tea

Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: ?????

93 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Jan. 8th, 2017

This is an excellent floral-flavored green tea. The flavors blend beautifully and smoothly. For my second cup, I added a bit of honey, which managed to enhance the flavor without dominating it. Wonderfully sweet!

If you like floral teas (such as jasmine green teas), this is definitely one to try. Lavender and rose a...

Black Ginger Tea from Music City Tea

Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: ?????

73 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Jan. 7th, 2017

This is a solid black tea. People who enjoy lightly flavored, high quality black teas should like this one. The ginger is quite subtle -- the tea aroma and flavor dominate -- but the ginger came through more for the second cup. The tea makes multiple infusions quite nicely.

White Peach Tea from Music City Tea

Style: Flavored White Tea – Region: ?????

97 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Jan. 4th, 2017

I *really* love this tea. It's rare I find a flavored white tea that I enjoy, but this one is simply great. The tea is smooth and soothing, the peach flavor tastes natural and nuanced, and they blend together seamlessly. The leaves are high quality, too.

I tried this tea and several others in the store before I boug...

The flavor is robust for the first cup and it infuses quickly. It's quite pleasant in holiday fashion, though not my favorite flavor. There is both spiciness and sweetness to it.

Organic Mango & Chile Black Tea from Trader Joe's

Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Sri Lanka / Ceylon

90 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Sep. 9th, 2016

This tea is unique and delicious when you're in the mood for something robust and fruity with a spicy kick. The tea pieces are pretty small (but not dust), so it infuses quickly. I steeped this for several minutes and it didn't turn bitter at all, which is excellent.

I really like this tea.

Not bad for bagged Earl Grey. I added half and half, which mixed well. The flavor was solid without being bitter. Others commented that it IS better, so maybe the half and half I added helped with that?

Cherry Marzipan (Skin Smart) from Tea Forte

Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: Blend

57 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 3/5
Nov. 24th, 2015

This tea wasn't the worst, but it wasn't really for me. The aroma was better than the flavor. It's possible I over-steeped it, as it went a bit bitter in a distinctively green tea fashion. Basically, I like the idea of this tea better than its execution.

As others have noted, clove and pepper come through in this tea. Cinnamon and other flavors are subtle. I added sugar and milk and really liked it. In short, as a bagged tea this one is pretty solid.

70 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5

I'm not big on genmaichas, but the light baked rice flavor in this one is comforting. It's nice when I'm in the mood for something savory, but not bitter. No spiciness or sweetness, the flavor is uncomplicated in a way that's nice sometimes.

Youthberry White Tea from Teavana

80 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 2/5
Oct. 10th, 2015

Tart, sweet, and fruity, this is a solid tea in my book. Its flavor is robust, so it's definitely for when you want something intense. I like it as a peppy breakfast tea when I'm not in the mood for a chai or other flavored black tea. Unfortunately, the tea bag didn't hold up to a second steep at all.

Though I can taste the chocolate, it's cardamom that comes through as the strongest flavor. I like cardamom, but it may be too much for some people. Weird, since i don't see that spice listed. Still, the aroma is spicy and pleasant.

Pumpkin Spice Brulee Oolong Tea from Teavana

Style: Flavored Oolong – Region: Blend

70 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5
Sep. 14th, 2015

A solid pumpkin spice tea. It has a distinct creaminess that I alternately like and then feel is a bit much or slightly off. It works best with an extra amount of tea.

It'd get a better rating if it was more affordable, but it's worth trying.

Earl Grey Black Tea from Teavana

Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: China

80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 3/5
Aug. 17th, 2015

Pretty good! I got this at a Starbucks and had them add sugar and cream (well, half and half). It worked really well together and provided a nice caffeine jolt. If let steep too long it develops not so much a bitterness as a sharpness, so I'd keep it to only a couple of minutes. The second cup was also solid, though a...

I really, really like this one. It's a great chai that works the chocolate flavoring just right. The cardamom is the most noticeable spice for the first couple cups, with the cinnamon showing up later. In both cases they were very smooth, not overwhelming or out of place.

This also works well whether you drink it pl...

Vanilla Almond from Republic of Tea

Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend

73 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Jul. 3rd, 2015

The smell of this tea is amazing, with a very strong almond vibe. The flavor picks up the black tea a bit too much for me, but I would imagine that big fans of black tea would find it well balanced. I don't detect a lot of vanilla, but it does seem to impart a sweetness.

In brief, it's great for what it is, but it'...

Ginger Peach from Adagio Teas

80 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Jun. 24th, 2015

The peach and ginger flavors in this tea are muted, but very smooth. I really like this one! A part of me wishes that the fruit and spice were stronger, but mostly I think this makes an excellent morning tea. The black tea is robust without being overpowering or bitter, and it holds up to multiple infusions well. Great...

Orange Sencha from Two Leaves and a Bud

Style: Fruit Green Tea – Region: China

37 / 100 Aroma: 4/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 2/5
Jun. 12th, 2015

Meh. To me, the orange flavor wasn't enough to compete with the bitter tea. I'm not particularly into in orange alone as a flavoring, anyway. I saw fannings at the bottom which I suspect were increasing the bitterness over time. Adding honey helped, but overall this tea simply isn't worth the price.

Grapefruit Oolong from Adagio Teas

Style: Flavored Oolong – Region: Taiwan / Formosa

70 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 5/5
Jun. 8th, 2015

Surprisingly good, though not a favorite. It has a relatively dark/roasted flavor from the tea (which isn't my favorite but was done well for what it is) and a lighter grapefruit flavor than I expected based on the smell of the dry leaf. The citrus flavoring really improved this style of oolong for me.

The second cu...

Ooooh, now this I like! This is my favorite flavored pu-erh by a lot. The tea is present, but not fishy. The fruity and nutty flavours blend perfectly with the chocolate bits, creating a complex and pleasing aroma and flavor. There is no bitterness, even after 5 minutes at boiling. Wonderful tea!

I also tried this t...

May. 31st, 2015

The aroma of the dry leaf is wonderful if intensely floral and fruity are what you like. Love it.

The white tea comes out much more stongly in the taste than in the scent. For my palate, the flavors blend pretty well -- though I'd be fine with even more blueberry flavor. Leaving the tea on a warmer improves it and d...

I taste the apricot much more strongly than the green tea, though the green tea does give it body. It could use a little something (like coconut) to add sweetness and complexity, but it's very good. The aroma of apricot is strong and delicious.

Jasmine Romance (Jasmine Green Tea) from Ahmad Tea

Style: Jasmine Tea – Region: China

50 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 3/5
Apr. 8th, 2015

The scent and flavor of jasmine is strong, and if you add honey that definitely improves this tea. However, as it cools it goes bitter (even with the bag taken out), and without the honey it's very meh. Not an impressive tea, but probably not the worst jasmine green tea in a bag. Worth trying if jasmine is something yo...

Style: Green Tea with Mint – Region: Blend

Apr. 6th, 2015

This is probably my favorite tea by Ahmad so far -- great for when you're in a sweet mood. This one smells exactly like those after dinner peppermints you can get free at many restaurants. If you don't add any sweetener, it can go a bit bitter. But if you add honey, then it also *tastes* exactly like those mints. Defin...
