Blackberry Sage from Republic of Tea
Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend43 / 100 Aroma: 4/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 2/5
Dec. 24th, 2011
The tea is extremely mild flavored. A basic black tea with a little flavor added in. Good for a quick pinch but nothing worth investing in. Similar - to me - to heating up a tea bag from the grocery store.

I didn't like this tea. My son, my little tea tasting buddy, also disliked it. However, it is what it says it is - a smooth cream tea, so I cannot rate it badly. Just completely not my preference. Very creamy and tastes convincing.

A run-of-the-mill teabag rooibos. This is perhaps slightly above-average quality for a tea bag. Flavor is somewhat flat, aroma is not terribly complex. In my opinion, if you want superior-quality rooibos in a tea bag that is also fair-trade certified, go with Equal Exchange's pyramid bags.
I was disappointed that...
Orange Spice Black Tea from Bentley's Tea
Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend77 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Dec. 23rd, 2011
This was my favorite from the little wooden gift set from the company. My son and I devoured these bags first. Found the taste delightful and strong. Would love to find a loose leaf orange spice tea that I enjoy even more from an online vedor. I'm sure there's even better out there, but for a bagged tea this one had qu...

I have to say that, especially for a plain black tea, I find this divine. I’ve purchased a few boxes and it’s a staple go-to tea for a quick cup of tea that’s bold and refreshing when I have little time. I do drink it with sugar (1 tsp.) to enhance the flavor. Deep and rich, careful not to oversteep. My son enjoy...

A good black blend with potent wake-up appeal. Had a strange taste I have trouble identifying, a natural sweetness, and a nice smooth strength. Tea had a decent energy kick to it as I felt rejuvenated drinking it rather than relaxed, which is a good thing depending on the moment. Although the tea is enjoyable, not sure...

Pretty much summing up what the other reviews do - a very standard tea where there are others out there that are better. Tried hot it is bland, I only drink it iced and with plenty of sugar if I have it. Seems bitter easily if overdone though, so care with that.

I did not care for the flavor of this tea. Although it contains orange flavors from flowers and orange peel, I tasted none, just a bad lemon flavor that doesn't even resemble real lemon juice.
The tea does work well for calming frayed nerves, but for me, is not a palate pleaser. I like the silk bags and unbleached...
Oriental Spice from Adagio Teas
Style: Chai / Spiced Tea – Region: Sri Lanka / Ceylon60 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 3/5
Dec. 21st, 2011
I was excited about this one from the description, and when I opened the bag, the gorgeous, strong smell enticed me. I was looking for an Adagio tea that would suit my cravings for a good Orange Spice, and also my love for Chai and spicy teas.
Sadly the tea was much milder than the scent. Without sugar it was basic...
Tropical China Black from Bromley Tea
Style: Fruit Black Tea – Region: China90 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5

This tea was delicious! I tried a sample out of curiosity from a gas station by purchasing a bag and making it at home. It seemed like it might hit the spot and I was in the mood for some experimentation.
The black tea is dark and rich, especially for a bagged tea. I am not a fruit tea fan but it is a mild taste of ...

It's funny but I didn't even notice when ordering a sample of this that it had coconut. I noticed it as a mild taste with each sip. I'm not the biggest coconut fan but it blended smoothly with the chai and other flavorings and was a nice treat. I prefer the traditional Masali but this is a refreshing change. Fortunatel...

A nice hearty tea with a great smell. Easy to brew for a non-Irish person and still have good tasting tea. I like this tea for my afternoon break - if my regular tea isn't available.

This tea, to my tongue, is bitter and grainy. I was disappointed after reading some good reviews. I guess there is a tea for everyone!

This tea is a specialty item in our grocery store and highly over priced because they import it from Ireland (or so they claim.) It is a good, average tea but not worth the price they want.

Dec. 19th, 2011
This simple looking teabag really surprised me, producing the cleanest, freshest chamomile tea I have tried yet, better than many loose-leaf offerings.
Aroma is typical of chamomile, fruity, with some tones of straw or hay, but this has a fresh quality, almost reminiscent of celery or parsley, and a cleaner flavor. ...

Sinusoidal said that this tea is similar to Tazo Passion; I agree!
Like Tazo Passion, this blend has added citric acid, something I strongly dislike because it makes the tea too sour for me after brewing it regularly. You can run it under cold water for about 15 seconds to remove most of this, but this also removes...
Magnolia Puerh - Organic Green Tea Blend from Numi Organic Tea
Style: Miscellaneous Blend – Region: ?????70 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Dec. 18th, 2011
First, a general note: I don't know what magnolia tastes or smells like, so it is difficult to say whether that particular flavor is present in this magnolia pu-erh tea. Numi advertises it as a tea with many subtleties or surprises, and it follows through on that claim. It is difficult to pin the tea down, but that is ...

Another delightful, fascinating, and unusual tea from Imperial Tea Garden. The dry leaf is exclusively tips, slightly twisted, and shows white downy hairs. Its aroma is airy and light, but it smells a bit like tobacco, and has toasty, grassy tones too, with a hint of camphor.

Oolong Tea from Wei-Chuan

Great tea for the bagged variety style,I usually drink high quality loose leaf at $15-25 per ounce, but Wei-Chuan is my next choice for an excellent full bodied smooth as silk tea. Also the price cannot be beat!! Thank you and keep up the great quality. Larry Michaels of the great lakes region, Ohio.

This is the best Jasmine tea I've had from a tea bag. It is better than a lot of loose-leaf jasmine tea I've tried.

English Breakfast from Twinings

A stronger, fuller flavour than cheaper brands of breakfast tea. I struggle to describe the aroma, but anyone familiar with English style tea will recognise and appreciate it. It also has a familiar taste of bitterness that will go down nicely with any tea lover.
This one deserves a proper tasting at any time of day, ...
Vanilla from Adagio Teas

Adagio has an awesome website and their teas are competitively priced. Alas, their flavored teas just don't float my boat. "Chemically" is how I'd describe both the vanilla and the other flavors I've tried. They're a popular brand, so maybe it's just me.

I don't like many mass produced teas, and Bigelow's over packaging is a major turn off, but I must say I do find myself drinking this quite a bit. Cinnamon-y but not too strong, I take it with whole milk and sugar.

You can find this in a bag or loose leaf in the bulk tea section of your favorite natural foods store (eg Rainbow Grocery in SF) or on the RoT website. I prefer the more environmentally friendly and IMO better tasting loose leaf.
A smooth, very full flavored tea with prominent but balanced ginger and peach flavor...
