Russian Country from Harney and Sons
Style: Russian Caravan – Region: Blend67 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Jan. 10th, 2015
A very good tea from Harney & Sons. I’m a recent convert to Lapsang, so was excited to see the description of this one blended with that tea for a smoother version.
It is smoky but slightly, and all the teas blend together to make a smooth, smooth tea that has no bitterness, no astringency, and a subtle but very...

Golden Monkey from Harney and Sons
Style: Golden Monkey – Region: Fujian, China80 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Jan. 10th, 2015
I have had this sample of Golden Monkey for awhile. A few years back I tried Adagio teas Golden Monkey and remember enjoying it quite a bit.
This tea really does have a comforting, golden glow about it. It just puts me in a good mood to drink it. I add a small smidge of sugar but it already has a nice sweetness that...

White Christmas (Loose) from Harney and Sons
Style: Flavored White Tea – Region: Blend67 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Jan. 10th, 2015
I don’t like peppermint tea but this is the best one I’ve had. It’s mild and not in your face peppermint and works to blend with the other flavors. Pleasant to drink and calming. Also smells delicious. I wasn’t able to taste any nutty flavors though.

Hot Cinnamon Spice from Harney and Sons
Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: ?????70 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Jan. 10th, 2015
First, the smell of this is incredibly divine. It’s like Red Hot candies or fireballs. My friend and I took it to have others smell it and they all said the same thing. I don’t think you could – no matter what you put in it – make anything smell more cinnamony than this.
This is the first full cinnamon t...

Paris (Sachets) from Harney and Sons
Style: Miscellaneous Blend – Region: Blend70 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Dec. 14th, 2014
I like this tea quite a lot. I found it quite sweet, particularly for a non-herbal blend, with a hint of something fruit-like. I don't detect vanilla over-much in the flavor, though it comes through quite a bit in the scent. I find this to be a good all-around tea for just about any occasion.

Royal English Breakfast from Harney and Sons
Style: English Breakfast – Region: Blend67 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Dec. 10th, 2014
Very nice - i like this one - comes in loose and sachets (not bags - I don't think) and I tried it in a sachet form. very nice aroma and easy to drink with or without sweetener. It is caffeinated but not like a "Lipton Black" - much more mellow. Not as good as a straight Darjeeling (first flush, baby!) but a good so...

Darjeeling Highlands (Teabags) from Harney and Sons
Style: Darjeeling Black Tea – Region: Darjeeling, India67 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Dec. 10th, 2014
I like Harney & Sons and I like some of their Darjeeling (loose and bagged) and this one is no exception. Inexpensive (Moderately priced) and easy to brew in bag form. Relatively mild (benign) and can stand with a longer steeping time. I love Darjeeling so this is a good portable option.

Pumpkin Spice from Harney and Sons
Style: Flavored Rooibos – Region: Blend77 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Oct. 1st, 2014
This is pretty good. I can't even tell that it's rooibos-based. I don't usually like rooibos, but this tastes more like pumpkin muffins or something. If I could choose, I'd have it with a bit less cinnamon, but it's good as-is. I added cream and sugar.

Pumpkin Spice from Harney and Sons
Style: Flavored Rooibos – Region: Blend70 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Sep. 30th, 2014
I really liked this one, and it's not the sort of blend I would normally expect myself to like. The aroma of the dried teabag was slightly cloying, a little bit like potpourri, but only a little bit.
Brews up a rich red color. Relatively medium-bodied, flavorful but not overly strong. The pumpkin is evident in th...

Dragon Pearl Jasmine from Harney and Sons
Style: Jasmine Pearls – Region: Fujian, China100 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Sep. 18th, 2014
Hands down, this is my favorite ever so far Jasmine tea in a sachet! I have been drinking it on special treat for the past several months. I absolutely love the Jasmine smell and the tea tastes exquisite! Each time, I've gotten two full-bodied brews out of my sachet. I plan on trying for a third. No bitterness whats...

Dragon Pearl Jasmine from Harney and Sons
Style: Jasmine Pearls – Region: Fujian, China87 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 3/5
Sep. 3rd, 2014
Excellent jasmine pearl! Very smooth. I tend to get tired of jasmine teas where the jasmine dominates too much, so I was happy that this one was well balanced. The tea I had was in a sachet rather than loose, but the sachet was very airy and was very full of tea. When I've had loose pearls like this before, I've used o...

Pomegranate Oolong from Harney and Sons
Style: Flavored Oolong – Region: ?????70 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5
Mar. 23rd, 2014
I got this in a "Silky Sachet" in an upscale restaurant. It has a very strong red-berry/pomegranate aroma which fades upon steeping. I liked this one - surprisingly - and I did add 1 packet of Splenda to it.
Also would be good iced, I imagine.

Chamomile (Sachet) from Harney and Sons
Style: Pure Chamomile Tea – Region: Egypt90 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Oct. 3rd, 2013
So far my experience of trying chamomile teas over the years has not been overly positive. While great mixed into some of my favorite blends, my description of it on its own was largely "dishwatery".
After trying a sachet of Harney and Sons Chamomile tisane with my last order, I absolutely LOVED it. It's a bit pric...

Organic Earl Grey (Loose) from Harney and Sons
Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: Blend80 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 3/5
Aug. 11th, 2013
Received an 8 ounce tin of this tea for Christmas, and have nearly finished without ever having left a review... It is really a wonderful tea, that is both bold and yet light--good for traditional afternoon English tea, or just for a casual cup to sip through out the day.
Nice base of primarily Assam and Keemun tea...

Dragon Pearl Jasmine from Harney and Sons
Style: Jasmine Pearls – Region: Fujian, China87 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 3/5
May. 16th, 2013
Delicious but expensive. Smells so great in the tin. Floral notes (Duh - it's a jasmine!) and a a pale-greenish brew brew upon a short steep. Do not over-steep this one.
I enjoy watching the little balls unfurl as the water hits them. I have never tried this on ice - but I imagine it'd be good. Oh, I love Jasmin...

Royal English Breakfast from Harney and Sons
Style: English Breakfast – Region: Blend63 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Jan. 17th, 2013
I enjoyed this in a Barnes and Noble cafe. Compared to Tazo Awake, I prefer this tea pretty solidly. It's perhaps a bit mellower, but I think more complex and smoother.
This was a solid black breakfast tea. It didn't quite scream "English" the way some English Breakfast blends did, but it did strike me as a typic...

Chopra Center Organic Ginger from Harney and Sons
Style: Herbal Tea – Region: Blend67 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5
Dec. 20th, 2012
This is a lemon-ginger blend that is stronger on the ginger than the lemon, and with a dash of pepper. The ginger is almost fiery but somehow soothing; I like it very much. Flavor is somewhat tangy.
I thought this was a very high-quality blend, but according to the Harney and Sons website, it seems to only be avai...

Panyang Golden Tips from Harney and Sons
Style: Panyang Congou – Region: Fujian, China80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 3/5
Nov. 20th, 2012
Wiry leaf has a good amount of golden tip. I was surprised by the dark color of the liquor produced by these light golden leaves. The picture Harney provided looks a bit deceptive--I found it brews much darker.
Aroma is intensely cocoa-ey and chocolatey. Almost tastes like a cup of unsweetened cocoa. Reminiscent...

Earl Grey Imperial from Harney and Sons
Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: Blend77 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 3/5
Nov. 20th, 2012
Among the best examples of an Earl Grey that I've sampled yet.
This Earl Grey has a bold base tea with its own unique character evident. The base tea tastes like a mixture of Assam and Keemun-style teas: rich, dark, robust, and with a warming quality. It tastes like the base tea would make a strong and high-qualit...

Heavenly Gyokuro from Harney and Sons
Style: Gyokuro – Region: Kyoto, Japan80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 2/5
Oct. 8th, 2012
I'm no expert on Gyokuro, but I will say that, at least to my tastes, this was a top-notch example of one.
I sampled this at World Tea East, but I found I liked it better when I brewed it myself. Harney recommends 155F and 3 minutes. For one teaspoon, I found I liked the results better with a little hotter water (...

Decaf Ceylon (Teabags) from Harney and Sons
Style: Ceylon Black Tea – Region: Sri Lanka / Ceylon97 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
May. 16th, 2012
While this tea is a bit pricier than your average supermarket decaf black tea, it's incredible flavor is well worth the extra $$. Many supermarket decaf teas have an almost washed out flavor compared to their caffeinated counterparts, but not this delicious Ceylon decaf from Harney and Sons! I highly recommend it for...
