Earl Grey from Twinings
Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: ?????80 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5
Apr. 17th, 2020
I must confess this tea was like a sort of introduction for me to the world of teas. I used to have it as a child on Sunday afternoons by my father. We had it strong and with plenty of sugar.
I'd say that this tea offers a very respectable value for money. In my area, it can be found easily (even in not specialized ...
Black Tea from Lipton Tea
Style: Black Tea – Region: ?????45 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 5/5
Apr. 7th, 2020
Lipton gets a bad rap. I get it too. It’s light, bland, and shallow.
I over-steeped my tea because I start with water that is less than a rolling boil, but really it was because I needed all that time to bring out any semblance of taste.
Lipton is a tea, but that’s about it.
You don’t even need two sente...
Pomegranate Pizzazz® Herbal Tea from Bigelow Tea
Style: Fruit (Herbal) Tea – Region: ?????78 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Apr. 7th, 2020
Steeped for a little over 5 minutes, with near boiling water, in a 10oz tea for one pot yielding two cups.
I personally liked this. Compared with something like Bigelow Pomegranate Green Tea it’s apparent that the flavor is not true pomegranate but more like a fruit tea that happens to be geared towards the tart f...
Organic Rose Hips with Hibiscus from Traditional Medicinals
Style: Herbal Tea – Region: ?????63 / 100 Aroma: 4/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Apr. 7th, 2020
As teas from outfits like Traditional Medicinals go, this one is remarkably simple. It has just these two basic ingredients, rose hips and hibiscus, that form the core of countless fruit- and berry-flavored herbal blends offered by many companies.
As a combination, it seems very well-balanced. There's not much dr...
English Breakfast from Twinings
Style: English Breakfast – Region: ?????55 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Apr. 2nd, 2020
Classic English Breakfast tea but I expected more from Twinings here. You aren't hit by this tea (like by Typhoo). I like a bit of a stronger note in taste. This one is unspectacular. I really tried to find something special in this tea but didn't find anything.

This is one of the best green teas I ever had. Rich flavour, very decent aroma. No bad pre- or aftertaste. I couldn't stop drinking this tea until I had finished the box. Highly recommended!

Half-litre pot at home, made from a mixture of fine dark brown black tea leaves and small pieces of dried raspberries and caramelised cantaloupe melon. This is the last of a set of food-service Liptons I got from a cafeteria, an individually wrapped bag that I finally have gotten around to trying and rating a couple months later.
The dry bag had little aroma, which is nothing new for most mass-produced or food-service green teas I've tried. The wet bag has a bit o...
Tangerine Orange Zinger Herbal Tea from Celestial Seasonings
Style: Herbal Tea – Region: ?????90 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Mar. 13th, 2020
This is a very satisfying tea. It has less of a 'zing' than the Sangria tea or the Red Zinger, making it feel a bit easier on the stomach. The orange/tangerine notes remind me a bit of Tang or an energy drink. I mean this as a compliment, not an insult. It's a very good flavor. I know that this is a blast from the past...

I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting this to be so good. In my area, Mother Nature seems to be going through her "change" and we've been getting some wild hot and cold flashes. I'll go outside in a long sleeve shirt and border on sweating one day, then go outside in thermal pants, leg warmers, a down vest, two layers, an...

Cup at home, made from a mixture of (relatively few) black tea leaves and pieces of figs, raisins, caramelised dragon fruit, lemongrass, apple, cactus flower and rose petals. Pours slightly hazy amber with s little sediment (I brewed it in a cup sieve). Clear aroma of citrus, raisins, and lemongrass, with a mild touch ...

This is one of my favorite blends ever. It has a strong but non-artificial flavor of roses and a creamy background of almonds. Goes great with milk if you can manage to make it strong enough.
I tend to sift through the tea in a larger container (tupperware or something) so I can pick out a balance of rose petals a...

Half-litre pot at home, made from a mixture of small pieces and chunks of dried fruit (apple, some red berries, caramelised pineapple), sugar crystals and possibly something else (no description is available on the tea company's website), but definitely not tea leaves. Pours clear pale rosy (first cup) with no sediment...

Half-litre pot at home, made from an impressive mixture of bits of caramelised pineapple, thin dried coconut slices, some indigo dried petals, and God knows what else, but whatever it all is, it emits a psychedelic and seductively sweet aroma. Pours clear nearly colourless with extremely pale shades of bleached blue (t...

When comparing among decaf green teas, Bigelow does live up to its name brand. This tea is less intense than its caffeinated cousin, but it has a relatively neutral aroma and no significant bitter aftertaste.

Salada is an affordable choice for a decaf green tea and is widely available in supermarkets, but it has a bitter aftertaste with an almost chemical overtone. The aroma is acceptable. I would suggest a different brand if you can find it.

This is an organic fruit and spice tisane that is made with apricot, apple, raspberry, orange peel, spearmint, hibiscus, turmeric, black pepper, and rosehips, plus some (organic) apple, raspberry, and orange flavoring. So quite a blend! It is not a typical tart and fruity hibiscus plus fruit flavor mix. The apricot ...

Feb. 18th, 2020
In an apparent ode to Back to the Future, Lipton, or at least its corporate boss Unilever, is again referring to this simply as, "Spiced Chai", as of Feb. 2020. Whether this is a renaming of their chai just for food-service purposes, or for keeps across the brand, remains to be seen. I uploaded a photo of the latest ...

This is an interesting blend of spices that is designed to be infused with milk. I make mine with non-dairy milk, and that may have affected the flavor some. The result is a very hot and spicy tea. Black pepper and chili pepper are the 2 main ingredients, bolstered by some ginger, coconut, cinnamon, and turmeric. I...

Here's another Lipton brand that has been "unretired" as of Feb. 2020. It is available under different-looking packaging in several online stores, as well as via Unilever's food-service page (where I got the photo to be uploaded shortly). Now that I've tried a few of these Lipton herbal and flavored black teas from a...

I commend White2Tea for the attempt at combining white tea with black tea in a cake like this. It was an interesting experiment. But, while the taste really isn't bad, the effect it has on me is very uncomfortable. That also hasn't changed over the years (I've had this cake for a while and have been aging it and period...
