Harney and Son’s Jasmine from Harney and Sons
Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: China95 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Jun. 5th, 2019
I purchased Harney and Son's loose Jasmine tea along with their Dragon Jasmine Pearls and their Organic Jasmine. I brewed all of them according to Harney and Son's directions (1 tsp tea to 1 cup water at 175F for 3 min).
The "Jasmine" had the strongest aroma and most pronounced jasmine flavor of the three. It was al...

Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: France99 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
May. 28th, 2019
One of the all-time best iced teas I've ever had. Hot summer day Paris 2018... marching around the Louvre we stumbled upon Mariage Freres tea shop in the underground gallery. Unfamiliar with what to choose and overwhelmed by the immense selection, the server asked what flavor profiles I liked. I said, "I like earl grey...

The citrus and peppermint work surprisingly well to create a bright cup. The orange and lemon blend in a way that creates a broad citrus experience without either one dominating. The second cup I made was basically identical to the first, which is impressive. All in all, this is a decent tea!

Mmmmmmm...delicious from the first dry-bag sniff through the cup and even in the aftertaste! Finally again, for only the second time in my experience: a coconut-flavored green tea that really is coconut-dominant, and since I enjoy coconut a lot, that's a good thing.
The best part is that the coconut flavor asser...
Mist Forest Naturally Flavored Colombian Green Tea from Upton Tea Imports
Style: Fruit Green Tea – Region: ?????65 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 2/5
Mar. 19th, 2019
Colombian green tea with pear guava and soursop, and apparently some added flavor. Very floral, sweet, and fruity - almost candy-like. This would be nice in the summertime, but I probably won't get it again because of the price.

Very good. The gunpowder tea is a touch smoky and that helps it mix well with the mint.

The green tea smells stronger than it tastes. There's nothing offensive about it, but neither is it satisfying. I rather suspect that Bigelow's green teas are blended for those that drink green tea for purported health benefits rather than the flavor. It's mild and not bitter, but it lacks any brightness or vegetal com...

Super-fruity wit a hint of acid - very nice over ice and OK hot, too. (Add sweetener if you wish but I don;t think it needs it - so go easy on the honey/sugar).
A nice change of pace it winter for hot or summer for iced fruity-green bagged tea. Inexpensive and convenient.
Green Nightly Calm from Twinings
Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: Blend38 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 2/5

I'm honestly not sure what the point of this tea is. This is obviously Nightly Calm herbal tea blended with decaf green tea and it's a nice idea, but Twinings' decaf green is nearly flavorless. The blend tastes just like the Nightly Calm, but still may contain some small amount of caffeine ("less than 0.2%") rather tha...

Super fruity and can be overly sweet - even without sweetener so go easy on any honey or sugar you might normally add. Very, very fruity. A slight tart finish. Pleasant enough hot but for me better over ice. Inexpensive bagged tea.

After trying the green tea version of Constant Comment and liking it, I'm really disappointed in the green Earl Grey. The bergamot flavoring is much lighter than in Bigelow's black tea Earl Grey, presumably to let the flavor of the green tea through, such as it is. The very light flavor of the base tea coupled with les...

As with the black tea version of Constant Comment, the dominant flavors are clove and orange peel. I'm tasting them both side-by-side at the moment and since Bigelow's green and black teas are both mild, the differences are subtle. The flavor of the green tea has a nice brightness and a faint hint of the grassy bittern...

Much like clove, mint is sort of a touchy one for me. I've indicated as much in the past, but most mint teas don't seem to end up tasting right in my book. That said, Moroccan Mint does an excellent job of blending a simple green tea with a touch of mint. The one thing I feel is lacking in this tea is the aroma. While ...

An enjoyable, but not super interesting tea that struck me as a little pricey. One of my favorite genmaichas yet. Thank you to Upton, for throwing this in as a free sample with my order!
Dry leaf looks a dusty bright yellow color, much more yellowish than most Matcha. Aroma is very mild, mostly of the toasted rice.

Style: Green Tea with Mint – Region: Blend80 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5

This is a pretty decent tea. It is very smooth and easy to drink because it has little bitterness and astringency. The mint and green tea go really well together. Normally I'm not so crazy about mint teas but this one mixed with green tea is really good. I get that nice mint flavor without it being too overwhelming. Th...

Here's the next entry in the dossier of Allegro teas obtained at one of our Colorado vacation stops. This is one of the few that I would consider ordering on its own merit...that is, if I weren't already dropping bags of inexpensive peppermint tea in with good green tea on occasion, to accomplish much the same result....

I'm not really sold on this one. T2 markets it as "holiday in a bag" and, to a point, they're right. It definitely reminds me of a beach, but it's the wrong part of the beach. Maybe it's just me, but all I can smell from this tea is sunscreen. The flavor is there, it's a mild coconut/pineapple blend, but it seems off t...

So there I was in the tea section of a grocery store in western Colorado, realizing I had forgotten to bring enough green tea along on vacation, looking for some. The bright red, cylindrical tin with the black lid and white star caught my attention, as did the unusual brand name and flavor: pineapple, one I enjoy. T...

I wasn't sure whether I would like this one or not, but I found it delightfully refreshing. The ginseng gives the tea a bright yet herbaceous flavor. The light feeling that the tea imparts is quite nice. I'm glad I tried this one.
I didn't add any creamer or sweetener to this tea.
Pomegranate Green from Allegro

This is a very well-balanced rendition of berry-flavored green tea, an enjoyable sip or chug. As I've found with many bagged green teas, the dry-bag aroma was weak, but in-cup, the smell became more full and representative of the taste, while the deeply breathed wet-bag aroma was richest of all sensations (including ...

I've been looking for a ginger tea that wasn't overwhelming for quite a while. This one, Stash knocked out of the park! Although this tea is called Lemon Ginger, I found it to be almost exclusively ginger. The aroma is almost pure ginger, and it tastes like a ginger green tea... no lemon at all. This isn't actually a bad thing, as I prefer ginger to lemon, but it wasn't what I was expecting. That said, I'd buy it again, but it's not on ...

To me, both the aroma and flavor of this tea are dominated by the pear, particularly in the aftertaste. This, however, isn't a bad thing. I do love pear, and this tea delivers!
