Peppermint from Adagio Teas

Style: Peppermint Tea – Region: ?????

58 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 2/5
Nov. 29th, 2018

I really enjoy the strong peppermint smell of this tea! It tastes decent but it's a bit too bitter for my taste unfortunately. People who are less sensitive to bitter tastes may find it just fine though! One thing I do really like though is the cooling sensation the mint gives me in my throat. This may be a good tea to...

Ginseng Green from Adagio Teas

Style: Ginseng Green Tea – Region: China

90 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Oct. 29th, 2018

I wasn't sure whether I would like this one or not, but I found it delightfully refreshing. The ginseng gives the tea a bright yet herbaceous flavor. The light feeling that the tea imparts is quite nice. I'm glad I tried this one.

I didn't add any creamer or sweetener to this tea.

Almond Oolong from Adagio Teas

Style: Flavored Oolong – Region: Taiwan / Formosa

72 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5
Oct. 26th, 2018

Thank you to my friend Joe for giving me this sample!

The aroma of the dry leaf is intense and intoxicating, an intense fragrance of marzipan or sweeet almond, like stinging your nose in a bottle of amaretto or almond extract. It's pretty much all flavoring; I can't discern any qualities of the underlying tea from t...

Formosa Oolong (Oolong #8) from Adagio Teas

Style: Oolong Tea – Region: Taiwan / Formosa

90 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Oct. 25th, 2018

This tea has a woody smell. It tastes of of coffee, chocolate and smoke but not overpoweringly. It is a full bodied tea with a malty taste. I have also found the taste changes drastically with brewing time. Shorter brews do not seem to produce the coffee/chocolate taste as much. It is never bitter unless over stee...

Raja Oolong Chai from Adagio Teas

Style: Flavored Oolong – Region: Blend

97 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Oct. 20th, 2018

Mmmmmm, I'm liking this tea. It's a nice mixtures of spicy flavors that works well with the oolong base. I've seen comparisons of this tea with Teavana's Maharaja Oolong Chai, but I was never a huge fan of that tea. This one strikes me as more flavorful and balanced. Though I think I prefer it on its own, it also holds...

Maple Creme Oolong from Adagio Teas

96 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Oct. 7th, 2018

I really enjoyed this tea! The aroma of maple is strong both in the dry leaf and the brewed cup. One should definitely try this tea without a sweetener first, as I think it's already almost dessert-like in its sweetness. But that sweet maple flavor doesn't taste cloying or excessive. It's a great tea for when you might...

Thai Chai from Adagio Teas

Style: Chai / Spiced Tea – Region: ?????

90 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Oct. 5th, 2018

I really enjoy the coconut and spices in this tea. The flavors are strong yet blend well, and the tea doesn't go bitter with brewing. The aroma of the dry tea is especially strong. The tea resteeps well, though the flavors are mellowed by repeated brewing. This tastes good both with and without honey added.

96 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Sep. 20th, 2018

This has turned out a surprise favorite. The aroma of the dry leaf is of fairly intense almond extract. After brewing, the almond aroma is still strong but a bit more blended and muted. The oolong and almond flavors work very nicely together. The tea also does pretty well with a second steeping. I may get this one in m...

I really enjoyed this tea. It reminded me of restaurant oolongs, except with more complexity and less astringency. It resteeps well, too. It isn't my favorite oolong, but it's a solid example of its type.

Scottish Breakfast from Adagio Teas

Style: Scottish Breakfast – Region: Blend

84 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Aug. 26th, 2018

This is a solid breakfast tea. I’m often not into plain black teas — especially of the “breakfast” variety. They often come off as too bitter or astringent. This tea, however, is smooth with a nice complexity. I like it a bit more than Adagio’s Irish breakfast. As of this review, I’ve never tried their Engl...

Aug. 19th, 2018

I haven’t tried a lot of Irish breakfast teas, but I like this one. It has a very smooth quality. It’s caffeine isn’t actually too intense, and it doesn’t turn bitter easily the way some black teas can. This is a solid breakfast tea, I think. :-)

Ti Kuan Yin (Oolong Goddess) from Adagio Teas

68 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Jun. 11th, 2018

I wrote a review of this before, but I accidentally deleted it while trying to edit it. Now that I've had a few better examples of Tieguanyin, I don't think this is as good as I initially thought. It's fairly mediocre, actually, with little to distinguish it from other oolongs on the lighter but not quite green end. Br...

60 / 100 Aroma: 2/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
May. 7th, 2018

I'm having a hard time rating this tea. It smelled pretty bad to me, like burnt pine. I guess that's the smokiness. The flavor was nicely earthy and slightly chocolaty with the occasional subtle fruit note. I enjoyed the flavor, but hated the aroma. I always knew it was done brewing and would taste the way I liked it w...

Guizhou Twist from Adagio Teas

Style: Green Tea – Region: Guizhou, China

80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
May. 6th, 2018

This is an unusually fruity green tea. The dry leaves have a strong floral and stone fruit aroma. The first time I tried it I used too much tea and brewed it for too long, and the result was overly sweet and astringent. The second time I used a little less tea and brewed it for around 1:40, resulting in a more complex ...

Gunpowder from Adagio Teas

70 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
May. 5th, 2018

Gunpowder isn’t my favorite tea, so my rating may not be entirely fair. That said, I like this tea. It’s smoky and a little vegetal. Full-bodied and smooth. I wouldn’t drink it every day, but it’s a nice change of pace. If you like strong and smoky green teas, you might like it better.

I can’t compare...

Irish Breakfast from Adagio Teas

Style: Irish Breakfast – Region: Blend

90 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Feb. 7th, 2018

Adagio's Irish Breakfast is a well-priced aromatic blend that goes best with a bit of milk. I disagree with the company's "malty" descriptor. The dry leaf has a twangy jammy aroma that is very pleasant. An overall solid daily tea.

Birthday Tea from Adagio Teas

Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend

86 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Jan. 14th, 2018

I opened up my box for a 20 dollar exactly adagio order of 8 teas, and I find not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 samples! I got a white monkey tea(which I chose at checkout), a rooibos vanilla chai, a Capricorn tin, and this birthday tea. It is so amazing how Adagio sneakily figured out it was my birthday and sent me this blen...

Samurai Mate from Adagio Teas

Style: Flavored Yerba Maté – Region: Blend

82 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Jan. 11th, 2018

Firstly, this tea is great on its own, but I decided to mix it with adagio's raja oolong chai as a replacement for Teavana's Samurai mate and maharaja oolong chai blend I sampled at the mall. I also recommend putting a bit of masala in this tea too. I steeped this tea for 6 minutes and found it did not re-steep well a...

Overall A very "meh" tea. It smelled quite nice but when a took a sip it was not what I expected(in a bad way). It had almost no vanilla taste and was almost a depressing masala chai.

92 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Jan. 11th, 2018

This is an extremely good beginner Pu Erh. It has a very deep flavor that tastes like how the woods smell after rainfall. And has a leafy and tree bark aroma. Also, the hazelberry evens everything out perfectly, and gives a nice flavor that doesn't take anything away from the tea. I've found that i could only get a few...

Style: Blue Flower Earl Grey – Region: Sri Lanka / Ceylon

63 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Jan. 11th, 2018

Firstly, this tea is extremely citrusy and I try to blend it with some Ceylon(the base tea for this earl grey.) to make it less so. It tastes just like your average earl grey. And has a slight maltiness to it. It is very cheap though, which is always great. I only steeped this tea once and any other steeps seemed quite...

White Symphony from Adagio Teas

74 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Jan. 11th, 2018

This tea is very similar to the white peony, so if you like that I'd give this a try.
The flavor is what you'd expect, somewhat fruity and sweet with this white tea aftertaste that seems consistent in every white I try. I can steep this twice and it doesn't seem like too great of a value.

Jan. 11th, 2018

This is my absolute favorite go-to green oolong tea. The aroma is pleasant and not very strong. But the aroma is the least of my worries when buying tea. The flavor is amazing, and I have trouble describing it. It lasts me 4 western style infusions and is an amazing value at 2.5 cents per cup when buying in pounds(or 1...
