The aroma of these adorable silver fuzzy leaves is like a field of wildflowers, there are notes of fresh vegetation, hay, flower nectar, and wildflowers. courtesy of alex...steeped for a bit over 3 minutes...right in between the suggested times using full bag and teapot...first try just tasted like black tea to me....couldn't taste all the diverse flavors others did....strengthened it up afterwards...still doesn't taste much different to me...average :/

The aroma is quite vegetal and also quite nutty, with note of green beans, spinach, chestnut, sweet sesame seed paste (Halva for those who enjoy Middle Eastern desserts) and a very delicate finish of toast. Update: I sampled this tea again and while I still preferred the Ming Qian variant, I think the difference was a little smaller this year. I enjoyed both of this year's (2016) teas better than my memories of the previous year, although they were all consistently good in both years.

The aroma of the dried leaves is really neat, it is a blend of roasted and floral. You get notes of sweet roasted popcorn and barley, this fades to orchid and honeysuckle, which in turn fades to a subtle chestnut. The dry tea smells lightly roasty and floral. While brewing, I can pick up some fruity aromas, like grape.
The flavor of the brewed tea is smooth and roasty. It has a subtle spinach flavor. I don't really taste any of the floral or fruity notes from the aroma, but that's ok, because I still really like this one...
