Sweet Dreams Herbal Tea from Bigelow Tea

Style: Chamomile Blend – Region: ?????

73 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Jun. 12th, 2013

The aroma is very very minty, not so much with the other herbs, but that happens with mint teas. Really good to inhale the vapors when you are having a stuffy nose!

The taste is a great blend of minty, the earthy/floral taste of chamomile, and the tanginess of hibiscus. There is a softening effect from the rose w...

Picture of Darjeeling (teabag)

Darjeeling (teabag) from Ahmad Tea

Style: Darjeeling Black Tea – Region: Darjeeling, India

53 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 3/5
Jun. 12th, 2013

The aroma is sweet, it is hard to describe it as anything other than that, it is sweet and very pleasant.

I am beginning to think I am not a fan of Darjeeling unless it is in a blend, because this is the second Darjeeling I have had and not been fond of.

The taste was tart, bitter and a little muddied. I am wil...

African Sunset from Two Leaves and a Bud

Style: Flavored Rooibos – Region: Blend

60 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Jun. 9th, 2013

I often find Rooibus hard to describe, especially to people who have never had it before. The aroma is like being in a deciduous forest in autumn, sweet, woodsy, and leafy. There is also the slightly zingy taste of the Lemongrass that adds both a citrus and a green taste to the tea, but it seems more of an after thoug...

Tamayokucha from Two Leaves and a Bud

Style: Tamaryokucha (Guricha) – Region: China

63 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Jun. 8th, 2013

The aroma is very green and vegetal with a slight hint of citrus. More like orange blossoms than orange fruit though, so I can see it also being considered floral.

The flavor is also very green, and not in a bad way. Very light and also very bright! The taste is more like grass than vegetables, which is something I...

Style: Mao Feng Green Tea – Region: Huangshan, Anhui, China

100 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Jun. 7th, 2013

Starting with the dry leaves, I have to say this tea is beautiful. Bright green whole leaves and buds with a slight silvery fuzz, the aroma that comes from them is fresh and slightly floral, specifically it reminds me of yarrow.

The color of the liquid is a wonderful citrine color and the aroma is delightful. It re...

Whittard Original from Whittard of Chelsea

Style: Black Tea – Region: Blend

83 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 3/5
Jun. 3rd, 2013

Sometimes you get really lucky and find a treasure where least expecting it, in this case I found this tea at a discount style close-out grocery store. Described by the box as a strong traditional black leaf blend, the tea certainly looks and smells strong. The aroma is rich and slightly nutty with a hint of malt from ...

Laoshan Black Chocolate Genmaicha from Verdant Tea

Style: Miscellaneous Blend – Region: China

80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 2/5
May. 30th, 2013

As with a lot of gourmet teas, this one is not very inexpensive so regardless on how much I love it I cannot just guzzle it. It is a special occasion tea! The aroma is that of chocolate, malt, and roasted rice, I could just sniff this tea for hours. Using Laoshan black with a bit of Oolong makes for a fascinating and e...

The aroma of this tea is slightly fruity and very rich, the color is a beautiful dark amber with a tint of red. The flavor is delightful, slightly earthy and bright with absolutely no bitterness. I would describe this tea as both rich and mellow.

Vanilla Almond from Republic of Tea

Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend

77 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
May. 30th, 2013

I have had both the bags and the loose leaf of this delightful tea, I prefer the loose but the bags are wonderful as well. The aroma is a great blend of vanilla and almond that does not overpower the tea smell. The flavor comes in layers, first the almond, then the vanilla, and lastly the smooth black tea. Rich without...

Sticky Rice Pu-erh Tuocha from Chicago Tea Garden

Style: Raw (Sheng) Pu-erh – Region: Yunnan, China

67 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5
May. 30th, 2013

This might be the most peculiar tea I have ever tasted. I received it with a mixture of flavored Sheng and Shu Pu Erh Tuochas and had to try it first because I love sticky rice as a food. The aroma is mostly sweet sticky rice with a slightly fishy undertone from the Pu Erh. The taste is so unusual!!! You can taste the ...

Minecraft Creeper Tea (Signature Blend) from Adagio Teas

Style: Green Tea – Region: Blend

77 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
May. 30th, 2013

This a great tea for people who love Green tea with interesting layers. At first the aroma is one of flowers and slight smokiness (ok, not terribly evocative of Creepers, but really, what does one even smell like! Maybe it does smell like flowers) The taste reminds me overall of spring time. The flavors seem to have di...

Cherry Green from Adagio Teas

Style: Fruit Green Tea – Region: ?????

67 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
May. 30th, 2013

The first thing you notice is the almost overwhelming aroma of cherries when you open the bag, not bad but very strong. After a brew you still get the aroma and a delicate taste of cherries and a mild green tea. A very smooth tea evoking spring time. I found this tea was best straight with no sugar or cream since it is...

White Pear from Adagio Teas

Style: Fruit White Tea – Region: Fujian, China

37 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 1/5 Value: 3/5
May. 30th, 2013

I really wanted to like this tea, but something just didn't work for me. I think it was because the pear aroma and flavor tasted more like a candy or artificial flavoring than pear, and considering pear is my favorite fruit I might be just really picky. The actual tea flavor was oddly dirty and unlike any white I have ...

So many spices and appley goodness! It is like a perfect Apple cider with a Masala style zing. It is perfect for a cold morning. The aroma or both the leaves and the liquid is like autumn, all apples and warm spices. My only complaint is that the apple cider taste seems to drown out the tea making it more like drinking...

Blueberry from Adagio Teas

80 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
May. 30th, 2013

I am extremely picky when it comes to blueberry flavored tea, I want it to taste like ripe, sweet, blueberries and not tart unpleasant fruit. So many teas make the tart mistake but not this one! The aroma when opening the package is blueberries all the way, an added plus when you actually see blueberries in the leaves....

May. 30th, 2013

This is such a decadent tea! Delicious and bold the aroma is that of rich, sweet cream and the taste matches. A great dessert tea and an even better breakfast tea (if you want something sweet first thing).

I would not recommend this tea if you are not a fan of sweets!

57 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
May. 30th, 2013

I really wish I could rate this tea as good or great, but sadly I cannot. The aroma is one of earthiness and woodiness, it reminded me of an old wood trunk or even a humidor. The taste was not overwhelming, but it did taste very strongly of earthiness and leather, much as the description says, but after the drinking it...

The tea leaves smell very chocolaty but sadly I felt like the tea just tasted burnt. Also tastes a bit bitter like dark chocolate which I liked and felt complimented the tea taste. Wish it did not have the burnt taste or it would be a favorite!

The first thing you notice with this tea is the overpowering perfume of roses, it is like walking into a rose garden during full summer and everything is in bloom. It is not at all unpleasant or artificial smelling.

The taste is sublime, it is like drinking a rose garden with a really lovely black tea. Subtly sweet...

I love almond teas and I am always looking for new ones to try, this one did not disappoint.
