Constant Comment® from Bigelow Tea
Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: ?????57 / 100 Aroma: 4/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Apr. 25th, 2010
In my opinion this is the best among Bigelow's flavored teas, although my favorite from Bigelow is one of their herbals--sweet dreams.
It's funny, I tend not to like orange spice teas, but I like this one. It's balanced: none of the aromas overpower the others. There's a nice amount of strength and bitterness, but...
Pure Ceylon Tea from New English Teas
Style: Ceylon Black Tea – Region: Sri Lanka / Ceylon60 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Apr. 24th, 2010
After being highly disappointed by the English Afternoon Tea of the same brand, this was a pleasant surprise. Again, very fine dust/fannings in the teabag, so I wasn't expecting much.
When I brewed the tea though I tasted an astonishingly complex, gentle Ceylon with a distinct high-grown character reminiscent of te...

Japanese Ku-Ki Ho-Ji Cha (Roasted Ku-Ki Cha) from Upton Tea Imports
Style: Hojicha – Region: Japan77 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Apr. 23rd, 2010
Aroma powerful and enticing like a dark roast coffee. This tea foams when brewed, and the brewed cup is clearer and lighter in color than you'd expect from the aroma and dark color of the twigs. Unlike some kukicha, this tea seems to be made exclusively out of twigs with not even a bit of leaf.
Surprisingly, relat...

Superfruit Unity Green Tea from Teavana
Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: Blend87 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Apr. 22nd, 2010
This was a gift for my birthday recently, it is a tea I brew for guests quite often. It is fruity, the slight sourness is offset by slight sweetness. I feel this is a light tea that I enjoy during the day. It is a good balance between being light and strong tea.

Sleepytime Extra from Celestial Seasonings
Style: Wellness Tea / Medicinal Tea – Region: ?????90 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Apr. 22nd, 2010
So, I really love this tea. I will say, the warning label is serious, especially if you have never had the sleepytime extra, you will want to make sure you are ready for bed when you drink it. It is very relaxing and even though it is potent, it is so in a very mild manner (if that makes sense). It is a very light tea,...

I was expecting something really wonderful when I bought this, but the flavor is a little flat and a little to bitter. I wouldn't turn it down if it was offered to me, but I wouldn't buy it again.

Mandarin Orange Spice Herb Tea from Celestial Seasonings
Style: Fruit (Herbal) Tea – Region: Blend77 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5
Apr. 22nd, 2010
I feel like this one is a "classic" but that may be because this was one of the first teas I actually enjoyed. It has a very strong aroma, but in a pleasant way. It is a little bit spicy, though I feel the aroma makes it seem like it will taste spicier than it actually is. I enjoy this tea in the fall and winter months...

I imagine myself sitting outside on a deck in the summer time lazily watching the sun set when I have a cup of this tea, regardless of what the scenery might actually be. It is a very smooth tasting tea with a light sweetness to it. I feel like it is a very well done blend of flavors.

Slightly sour but still fruity. A very light tea that was nice during the day while reading a book or sitting around chatting. It was nice to drink when I was stressing out a little, but that could simply be because I was drinking tea. It is not one of my favorite teas, but not something I would avoid.

India Spice Chai from Celestial Seasonings

Apr. 22nd, 2010
This is a good 'railroad' tea (add milk and sugar) if you don't want to go to the trouble of making your own or don't keep a variety of whole spices. Rather pricey though. Sugar or honey brings out the spice flavor.

Sitting down to review a couple of teas from Kalahari Tea, one from their Energy Tea line and the other from their Chocolatte Red (Rooibos) line. Both teas are bagged but I’m open minded and I have had high quality teas that happened to be prebagged in the past (usually tear them open so I can watch the leaves dance ...

This is the bag tea I use most frequently as an alternative to Assam, Kemun, Yunnan, or Darjeeling loose leaf teas. It holds up well to milk and a bit of sugar, doesn't have the slightly fishy taste of some major commercial brands.

I am a fan of Rooibos. I love all teas, but there is something about Rooibos that is more appealing to me. Perhaps it is my sweet tooth, which appreciates the natural sweetness of Rooibos, or perhaps it is because Rooibos tends to blend with so many “sweet” flavours such as Caramel and Vanilla. Whatever it is, I am...

Let me start by saying, I am not a coffee drinker. For me, the tea I choose to drink throughout the day will be dependent on my mood. This tea would be one that I would use to start my day, as I think it has the ability to give you that initial morning burst that many people claim to get from that first pot of java....

The dry leaf is flaky in appearance, meaning it is probably a steamed tea like a sencha. But the aroma is totally unlike sencha.
Brewing as I would Sencha, this comes out a cloudy grayish green, more yellowish than most Japanese teas but greener than most pan-fired teas.
This tea is packed with flavor: a rich, c...

Green Tea from Wegmans

Wegmans green tea is one of the better cheap green teas. It has a basic green tea taste. I could drink it every morning. It's a good stand-by, especially for those of us on a budget. It is really cheap but has a good flavor.

This teabag just contained dust and fannings. It was surprisingly weak, even when I brewed it for 4 minutes with boiling water, using less than one 8-oz cup with a single teabag.
Aroma weak, nondescript. Smooth...almost no bitterness, and very little astringency. But very little flavor of any sort. Highly disapp...
