Astonishing quality from such an inexpensive teabag!
With a single 5-minute infusion (shorter leaves a bland cup--the finely-broken leaves are packed tightly in the teabag and the flavor does not diffuse quickly) I found an amber colored cup with a mellow, subtle aroma and smooth flavor. In my experience, only good...
China Pu-Erh Standard from Upton Tea Imports
Style: Pu-erh Tea – Region: Yunnan, China63 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5

I don't particularly like black (ripe) pu-erh, but this is probably the one I've liked most, among loose varieties. It has a fresher taste, with more bite. There are some herbaceous tones in the aroma, although the dominant character is still dust and earth. Much more flavorful than other loose black pu-erh I've tri...

Style: Jasmine Pearls – Region: China83 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Jun. 29th, 2010
The smell and taste of the Jasmine was authentic, and not artificial. The aroma of the tea was of Jasmine flowers, sweet and soft, calming me down and reminding me of a sleepy time tea. The color of the liquor was very light, as expected from the white tea leaves. The white tea is tasty, I could taste the creaminess an...

Mmm! What wonderful tea. I really enjoyed the complexity of the honey tones, the tobacco notes as well as some forest flavors. A great tea!

The aroma is honey-like, like pouchong tea more than the crisper green tea. Less jasmine in the aroma than some jasmines, but it's definitely present. Mellow and warm.
The flavor, however, is intense: remarkably sweet, but also with a biting bitterness (especially if you brew this one too long). I would recommend...
Floral Jasmine Green from T (Tealeaves.com)
Style: Jasmine Tea – Region: ?????70 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 3/5

Exceptionally good. This is without a doubt the best Jasmine tea that I have ever tried from a tea bag, and in quality it exceeds many loose Jasmines I've tried.
Aroma is intensely floral, but purely pleasing...none of the overwhelming or harsh perfumey quality that some Jasmine can take on. The green tea also has...
Original / Classic from Bell
Style: Black Tea – Region: Blend100 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5

This is what tea should be. Simple, but aromatic, with a full body. The flavor is perfect, especially with a little milk: not too bitter or too sweet. An incredibly pleasant tea experience.

This tea is fully decent - I'd say it's better than what most of Twinings puts out. That said, it's not a great tea. The smell is blah. The tea tastes great at the first sip, but then lingers with a bit of cardboard. I think a little bit of lemon or mint would fix that though.

This tea has a wonderful, rosy aroma, but I would rather smell it than drink it. It leaves a bit of a soapy aftertaste, although I like the slightly sweet flavor it has while it is on the tongue.

This tea smells simply luscious - it's scent has a mossy, earthy quality, with some fruity hints on top. It tastes lovely iced - it starts out with a deep flavor, and then has a sweet aftertaste that lingers a bit. Even though I used a good amount of tea to brew this, the flavor is still light.

I was unimpressed with this iced tea. It has a generic taste like most of the mainstream brands of tea bags available in the supermarket. Tastes flat and a bit stale.
'Gourmet' is an overstatement!

I made two infusions of this tea. I found, using longer brewings, it's only really good for two and then most of the flavor is gone. I used 3 min. and 6 min.
For the first infusion, the aroma is floral and orchid-like, like many of the greener Anxi oolongs, but there's a depth and warmth to it that I've found is a...

This is a quite good tea. (I'm drinking it iced). It smells fantastic, and reminds me a little bit of Earl Gray. This tea is a bit more delicate than most black teas.

This tea tastes a lot like Lipton. It's an OK, rather generic iced tea, that is perfectly refreshing on a hot day, but is nothing to swoon over.

I had this in Saxby's coffee shop. It is not bad. In contrast to most citrus-flavored teas, the fruit is not overdone, and this tea has a bold green tea presence. I'm not sure what tea is used as the base tea, but it seems to resemble sencha, bancha or other steamed tea more than a Chinese pan-fire tea: the aroma ha...

At times it was a little too astringent but at others it was a nice balance between the sweetness of the jasmine and the earthiness of the puerh. All in all though it is a very decent selection, especially for a jasmine addict such as myself

Very unlike any other dancong I've tried. The dry leaf of this dancong has a savory, smoky quality, but is nonetheless recognizable as a dan cong. The aroma of the dry leaf is reminiscent of some Darjeelings (ones that I am not a fan of, incidentally). Not even a hint of floral or fruity qualities.

very heavy fruity, apple-like aroma and flavor. it kind of overpowers the flavor of the base tea. this would make a nice, fruity iced tea for sure, but it's too pricey to brew up in bulk for this purpose.

This is a very mild tea, in a good way. The flavor is a little bland, but the aroma is amazing. It is a little like drinking flowers, but they're tasty flowers. Despite the fact that this tea is caffeinated, its effect is soothing - which could be good or bad, depending on how alert you need to be!

This is astonishingly smooth (perhaps weak too) for a Breakfast tea. A little bit, but not much strength. There's a mild tannic aftertaste and I almost wish there was more. Odd, as this tea brews a very rich, dark color.
Aroma is mostly malty and not very complex.
Pleasant, but somewhat boring.
Black Pearl Tea from Lipton Tea

Surprisingly different from Lipton teabags, and surprisingly high quality. Rich, malty aroma, some bitterness in the aftertaste but smoother up front. A remarkably pleasing, full-bodied tea. I recommend brewing for about 3 minutes...more and it becomes too tannic.
My main complaint about this one, like all of Lip...

this seems like a well-balanced 2nd flush darjeeling. i imagine that this is basically what an archetypical 2nd flush tea should be. some muskiness, nuttiness, bitterness, and astringency. no single element is really overwhelming.
good tea
