Picture of Nepal Tea Flowers

Nepal Tea Flowers from Upton Tea Imports

Style: Tea Flowers – Region: Nepal

87 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Sep. 3rd, 2013

The aroma of the dried flowers is very evocative of straw flowers or chrysanthemum, slightly woody. The aroma of the liquid still has the woodsy quality but also brings in slight mineral and mossy.

The flavor of the tea flowers is incredibly sweet, not at all floral and reminds me of a mixture of Scuppernongs and A...

Apple Pie Chai Rooibos Herb Tea from Wegmans

Style: Flavored Rooibos – Region: Blend

57 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 3/5
Aug. 27th, 2013

The first thing that strikes you with this tea is how intense the aroma is. Sadly it is mostly lemongrass and the Rooibos that you smell and none of the spices or other ingredients. Luckily after you brew it the other ingredients start to show up and the rest mellows out.

The flavor is weird, the first cup is extrem...

Black Tea from Salada

Style: Black Tea – Region: ?????

53 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 4/5
Aug. 25th, 2013

This is one of those teas that you get because it is cheap and you really want tea. I mostly have bought it for making iced tea because you can make a really decent iced tea with this brand. Sadly it is not the best hot. As a hot tea it is pretty flavorless and boring.

Holiday Chai Black Tea from Stash Tea

Style: Chai / Spiced Tea – Region: ?????

83 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Aug. 24th, 2013

The best part of this tea is the aroma, so many wonderful spices that are nostalgic and wonderful. You can even smell the hint of Rum.

The taste is mild and well balanced with the spices, luckily no one thing overpowers which can be a problem with cinnamon heavy teas.

Birthday Tea from Adagio Teas

Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend

80 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Aug. 21st, 2013

When you open up a bag of loose tea and see sprinkles hanging out with the leaves you cannot help but smile. I got a sample of this from Adagio when I ordered a bunch of tea for my birthday...so nice when a company pays attention to these things!

The aroma is so uncannily like a cupcake that I could have been foole...

Ginger Twist from Mighty Leaf Tea

Style: Herbal Tea – Region: Blend

73 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Aug. 19th, 2013

The aroma is sweet, like ginger, mint, and just a hint of the lemongrass. I do not smell any fruit or ginseng. I could sniff this tea for hours, it smells very refreshing!

The taste is subtly sweet with an undertone of fruit. There is no one flavor that sticks out. It tastes green and herbal, as to be expected, but ...

Lady Grey from Twinings

Style: Fruit Black Tea – Region: Blend

53 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 1/5 Value: 4/5
Aug. 19th, 2013

I have no complaints about the aroma, it smells like a mix of oranges and lemons, which is pleasant, especially first thing in the morning when you need an extra zing.

Sadly the flavor left a lot to be desired, it tasted too artificial. Like drinking a particularly weak tea that accidentally had some perfume dumped...

73 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5
Aug. 18th, 2013

The aroma is delightful! Very much so matches the name of orange and spices and is super nostalgic for me. Always reminds me of Christmas when my mom would have her orange spice potpourri on the burner.

I am mixed on the flavor, I would rather have Constant Comment because it is not as tart, still as herbal teas go...

Style: Tie Guan Yin – Region: Anxi, Fujian, China

77 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Aug. 17th, 2013

The aroma is very mild and lovely, a mixture of green, roasted, and honeysuckles. It reminds me of the way my kitchen smells after I make my own Hojicha.

The taste is mild for a Ti Kuan Yin and more green than floral. The initial taste is a toasty green with hints of floral, as the taste fades you are left with swe...

English Afternoon from Ahmad Tea

Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: Blend

60 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Aug. 17th, 2013

The aroma is pleasant and mild with a hint of Bergamot.

The flavor was slightly bitter and citrusy from the Bergamot and Ceylon, but other than that there is no real flavor. I was not overwhelmed with the flavor and a little disappointed.

Assam from Two Leaves and a Bud

Style: Assam – Region: Assam, India

67 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Aug. 17th, 2013

The aroma is lovely, you can certainly tell it is an Assam from the first sniff! Rich and malty. I was however, surprised by the amount of dust in the tea wrapper and then in my tea, I have not run into that before with this company's Assam.

The taste is quite good! Malty, rich, subtly sweet, and not at all bitter....

Earl Grey from Twinings

Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: ?????

Aug. 17th, 2013

The first thing that struck me about this tea was the aroma, this might be the first Earl Grey I have sampled where you can smell the tea under the Bergamot. So often with Earl Grey I can never get a feel for the tea's aroma because I am too busy being kicked in the face with Bergamot. The aroma is fantastic, smooth an...

I used to drink tons of coffee, the by product of working in a coffee shop as a teenager. I got a bit sick of it, but still love the smell and taste of it on occasion.

The aroma is delightful, a mellow blend of tea mixed with rich chocolate and coffee and a sweet yet slightly tangy kick of strawberry. The smell rem...

Style: Green Tea – Region: Yunnan, China

87 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Jul. 11th, 2013

When I first opened the package I thought, is this a fermented tea? It had the rich earthy aroma of a Pu Erh and the smokiness of a mild Lapsang Souchong with just a hint of that 'Asian Market' smell that you get with Pu Erhs. It is delightful and unfamiliar, certainly a new aroma from a green tea.

Once the leaves ...

Lavender Sencha Green Tea from Wegmans

73 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Jul. 8th, 2013

The aroma of lavender overpowers the aroma of the sencha with the fresh leaves, it is sad but I love the smell of lavender and am a sucker for anything lavender flavored.

The brewed tea has more of the bright green aroma of the sencha which blends well with the lavender. The color is also a really lovely light gree...

87 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5

The aroma is lightly floral and lightly green with the usual earthiness I associate with oolongs.

The taste is slightly bitter, like a green, with hints of orange blossom and a hint of ginseng. The taste is both very pleasant and subtle.

After multiple brews the taste becomes more green and herbal and less flora...

Irish Breakfast from Twinings

The aroma and flavor of this tea were not overwhelming, it had the typical maltiness of Assam and the tanginess of Ceylon but both were muted.

The flavor, although muted, is really pleasant and a good bagged tea for when you first wake up and really just want a quick, tasty, cup of tea. Very evocative of the tea I ...

When I was a little girl I spent a large portion of summer surrounded by Honeysuckles and sampling their delightful nectar, the aroma is very comforting and nostalgic to me. The aroma on this Chai is delightful! A mix of earthiness, peppery, cloves, and something I am not familiar with which I am assuming it is the Tulsi.

The taste is also quite good, the masala blend is well balanced and the base tea is very mild. I really like the herby taste of the tea and think it blends well with ...

Everything about this tea is fair, I was not overwhelmed by the aroma or the taste. Sadly it was all bland. The aroma was malty and there was a slightly malty taste. I added a bunch of cream and it brought out some of the richer maltiness of the tea.

The aroma of this tea is delightful! The smell is sweet and spicy, very rich with lots of clove.

Sadly the aroma and the taste did not match, I found the tea underwhelming. Still a nice clove taste but really that is it. I am sadly disappointed.

This is a very complex and unusual tea, luckily not in a bad way. Introduced to me as having 'an acquired taste' I can certainly agree.

The aroma is a great mix of spicy ginger and earthy turmeric that just floods your olfactory glands with a punch of spice. It is intense!

The flavor of this bright yellow tea is...

What a delicious tea! The aroma is very bright and green, vegetal and fresh like a nose full of spring-time.

It has all the aspects of Long Jing but better, the taste is intense but also mellow. Green, vegetal, tart (not bitter or sour, but tart like fruit) and subtly sweet with floral notes. There is also the afte...

My perpetual quest for the perfect Blueberry tea might have finally ended. The first thing I noticed about this tea when I opened the large tin at Wegmans were the beautiful leaves. Jun. 13th, 2013

This tea is fantastic, absolutely fantastic! I might be more than a little partial since Cardamon is possibly my favorite spice to add to tea with sharp competition with Star Anise.

The aroma is a very pleasing blend of the spice and smooth base tea, neither overpower the other.

The same can be said about the ta...
