A nice mild earthy smell to this tea. Dark honey color liquor. A good fannings grade.

The aroma is...well, it is awesome, there are notes of dried cherries and apricots, with more subtle notes of sweet potatoes, roasted peanuts, and lastly a tiny hint of cream. It is very much so iconic for a Yunnan black tea, at least for me it is, it has all the notes I expect when sniffing a fuzzy gold tea, but with ...

This tea brewed an amber colored liquor and immediately gave off a strong punch of apricots, trailed by a musky honey scent. The first taste—still too hot—yielded an indistinct malt-floral taste. Later after allowing to cool further, the liquor still seemed mild and subdued, and so with a third sip, I vigorously ae...

This tea should be called "Campfire Black." It takes like your are drinking smoke combined with black tea. Depending on the quality of black tea used in this blend, this tea is excellent. If the Assam, for instance, is not top quality, then it can suffer from too much smoke and not enough tannins. Much like a similar ...

This was a very light brew with a bright golden color, and it smelled immediately of mint and other subtle floral and green fragrances. The sense of mint carried into the taste and mouthfeel, and it was never earthy or grassy. Later in the cup, I noticed a bit of the scent of asparagus. It was a really soft, beautiful ...

Very smooth, fresh tea. I definitely like the lighter, non-bitter taste of Darjeelings compared against regular black teas. The first cup of this one was particularly good, while the second one was slightly weaker in flavor. Still, I enjoyed the very lightly floral taste, which contributed a pleasant complexity to the ...

Despite leaving the leaves to brew a little longer than I originally intended (meant to brew for 3 minutes, but ended up closer to 5), this is a very smooth tea. I brewed it at 180 °F. This would make a very good general purpose, share it with friends sort of tea. There's no bitterness, I like the almost-floral aroma,...

Actually one of Twining's better blends. A bit bolder than their English breakfast tea, with more pronounced malty flavor. A nice mix of Ceylon and Assam teas. Stands up to sugar and cream if you go that way, and just fine on it's own. Biggest disappointment is the lack of aroma. Makes a pretty decent cup of tea.

normal very mild black tea smell, taste is very smooth black tea, not very flavorful...(steeping longer now)...teabag seems tapped as the longer steeping doesn't seem to do anything...too mild and bland...nothing fun here...not worth paying for..update: when the tea cools it just tastes like a wet teabag... :(

This was the first tea that I really appreciated in my life, so I may be a bit partial. I really like this tea prepared the Turkish way with a fair amount of sugar. Its taste is really peculiar.
I've tasted other Turkish teas, but this one stays my favorite.

I think this is an average to above-average, if a bit unmemorable, darjeeling.
Steeping the tea the traditional way using DAVIDsTEA's instructions gives a pretty bold mouthfeel. It is quite astringent, with good body, and little bitterness. The aroma is quite pleasant and very much like a darjeeling, earthy with s...

Upon tasting this one, it quickly reminded me of a general black tea. Not bad, but not my preferred style. I pretty quickly decided to go ahead and add creamer, as I think that improves many of the less interesting black teas, and it certainly helped here.

What a pleasant smelling tea! The aroma is a wonderful mix of earthy and malty with a slight note of nuttiness. It is a very clean, pure tea smell which I think would be great to drink on its own but also a perfect base for blends.

Tried this one while on the go using a travel tea mug. I'll have to give it a proper tasting later, at home, but so far I'm pleasantly surprised! More subdued than most black teas, and not bitter at all (though I also made a point to steep it briefly).
Update: Okay, I got to try this again at work. It's definitely a...

Not bad, but not a favorite. It tastes like a decent quality southern-style black tea. No bitterness I can notice. I feel like, for me, it would benefit from a squirt of lemon juice, though I don't have any on hand to try it. I think regular southern tea drinkers would really like this one, but it's not quite dazzling ...

Traditional unblended tea with deep color and bold flavor. 100% Ceylon. Equally nice as a warm cup to start the day, or iced for a refreshing glass throughout the day. Aroma is very subtle and the flavor not terribly complex. Just a good all around Ceylon tea.

A distinctly raisin-like aroma and flavor. I like it! No bitterness I can notice. Interestingly, this steeped very quickly for a whole leaf tea. Even as I poured the water (brewed at 200 °F), the water became a deep brown with gold tints. After just one minute I went ahead and removed the sachet, as I felt like it wou...

The aroma of these long, curly, leaves is indeed quite sweet and very rich! There are notes of honey, beet root, roasted peanuts, tobacco, and a touch of roses. I am not sure I have ever sniffed a dry leaf that was so complex and had all the aromas work together in harmony.

Surprisingly not bad! This is the first time I've tried a decaffeinated tea and I wasn't expecting much, but it was actually pretty nice. The level of bitterness was very low, and I swear I taste just a hint of cinnamon in this. It creates an all-around pleasant cup, even without cream.

I'm surprised that a number of people thought this tea tasted weak, though the strength of cup I got might be due to a mistake I made: I tore the drawstring teabag. The tea fell out, so I just brewed it loose and floating in the cup. This made it diffuse very quickly. The tiny bits were too small to effectively scoop o...

Sampled at the coffee hour at a Unitarian Church in Northwest Philly. I didn't expect much, because it was just a humble cardboard box filled with unsealed, paper tea bags, and each tea bag was filled with fine dust.
But this tea impressed me.

Very interesting tea! It's only my second Darjeeling and, so far, I think this will be my preferred style of black tea. It doesn't have the bitterness of most black teas, and this one has a light raisin-like flavor that works quite well with the delicately savory body of the tea. The aroma smells lightly of a licorice-...
