Innate Assam Summer Natural Artisanal Green from TEAORB
Style: Assam Green – Region: Sivasagar, Assam, India51 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 2/5
Nov. 6th, 2017
An aromatically-interesting tea that was too harsh for me to enjoy it. I wonder if, like a raw or sheng Pu-erh, this tea could be aged. I couldn't enjoy drinking it as-is.
This is the first summer-harvest Assam green tea, and I was curious to see if it tasted appreciably different from the others. I was disappoin...
Esta Assam Spring Organic Artisanal Green from TEAORB
Style: Assam Green – Region: Dibrugarh, Assam, India73 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Oct. 30th, 2017
When TEAORB sent me a massive array of Assam green teas to sample, I was a little worried that they would all taste too similar to each other, especially given how they all seem to look very similar to each other. Many of the Assam greens I've tried have been bold, alien, and the sort of tea I would need to be in the ...

I was attracted to this sample in the batch by TEAORB's description of a "forest floor" aroma and "toasted beans" palate. That appeals to me. I did not enjoy it as much as I had hoped, however.
The leaf, although a bit boring looking (wiry and solid brown in color), is pleasantly fragrant, a lot like a Chinese gre...
Groen Vietnam Ban Lien from Het Gouden Randje
Style: Green Tea – Region: Vietnam82 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Oct. 26th, 2017
I have asked about Vietnamese teas so many times that the owner of Het Gouden Randje ordered this tea! She tells me she likes it too and that she'd already sold some to another customer, and thanked me for the tip. She also advised me to steep it multiple times, at least three.
It's cheap, too; just €5 per 100 g. ...
Gomvir Assam Spring Natural Artisanal Green from TEAORB
Style: Assam Green – Region: Dibrugarh, Assam, India68 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Oct. 26th, 2017
My least favorite of the Assam green teas so far; still pleasant to drink but only if brewed carefully; has some nice aromatic complexity, but I found the aroma was fleeting, most evident right after I poured the water and not persisting as I drank the whole cup. It was also very easy to oversteep.
The dry leaf has...
Degozest Assam Spring Natural Artisanal Green from TEAORB
Style: Assam Green – Region: Dibrugarh, Assam, India89 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Oct. 20th, 2017
This tea stood out among the first several Assam green teas I sampled from TEAORB. I haven't tried the whole batch yet, not even half of it, but this is definitely my favorite so far.
The dry leaf is by far the most fragrant of the Assam greens I've tried. The smell is similar to the other teas: smoky, vegetal, an...
Emperor's Clouds and Mist Green Tea from Teavana
Style: Clouds & Mist (Yun Wu) – Region: China75 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Oct. 17th, 2017
One of my favourite green teas. Doesn't go bitter (leave for less than two minutes) and it tastes so smooth and nice. It is my go to tea in Starbucks these days.

This tea tasted a lot like an un-aged sheng pu-erh, but a softer one suitable for immediate consumption. This was my second tea sampled in my adventure into Assam green teas, thanks to the abundant small samples TEAORB sent me.
Dark, crinkly leaf smells heavy, but there's a faint light note suggesting sweetness, an...
Kamata Assam Spring Organic Artisanal Green from TEAORB
Style: Assam Green – Region: Bongaigaon, Assam, India74 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Oct. 13th, 2017
A potent large-leafed green tea with a strong flavor, thick body, and a bold, slightly alien aroma.
This was the first Assam green tea I have ever tried. Thank you TEAORB for generously shipping me a huge assortment of Assam green teas. This one reminds me of Yunnan green teas more than anything else, a little lik...
Oi Ocha Green Tea from ITO EN
Style: Green Tea – Region: Japan85 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Oct. 11th, 2017
The standard tea bags are packaged in plastic. When opened, the tea is quite pungent, smelling fresh, sweet and of seaweed.
I used 175° water for three minutes. This tea is really aromatic while brewing. The tea smells like seaweed, but not fishy.
The flavor is definitely of high-quality Japanese green tea, but ...
Gyokuro Imperial Green Tea from Teavana

Very fresh vegetables taste with light seeds at the end. This Shincha has deep green color of rolled leaves and clean and very light green color of infusion slightly sweet, with a refreshing aroma and seeds, taste at the end. this means a high concentration of L-Theanine.

I should preface this by saying before discovering twinnings, the only teas I were used to were the walmart bargain brands. So, my expectations were exceptionally low. I had just seen that it was the most expensive Green Tea at walmart, and being one that enjoys Green Tea for it's health benefits, I figured i'd try the...

Several bags of this tea have been sitting around my pantry for up to a year after bringing them home from a professional conference, occasionally consumed either alone or teamed with a bag of peppermint. Finally I'm thinking to rate it!
Where I grew up, a troublesome percentage of fellow youth sniffed glue, paint ...
Dragon Well Tea from Ten Ren Tea
Style: Dragon Well (Long Jing) – Region: China73 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Oct. 2nd, 2017
I got this box free with an order of loose Ten Ren tea. The normal price is $4 for a box of 20 tea bags.
The individual bags are sealed in plastic for freshness and the aroma is quite strong when opened. It doesn't smell like dragon well to me, though, but like cheap gunpowder or pearl green. The dry tea is chopped ...
Gunpowder Green Tea - Temple of Heaven from Numi Organic Tea
Style: Gunpowder Green Tea – Region: ?????66 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Sep. 28th, 2017
The "Temple of Heaven" needs a smoke alarm; it may be burning down.
This was my next new-tea attempt from a Numi variety pack, and mostly it's a good, clean, smooth, hearty cup. The tightly rolled nodules unfurl into the biggest leaves I've ever seen inside a tea bag, larger than those of many loose-leaf teas I've ...
Sencha (g/bio) from De Theefabriek
Style: Sencha – Region: Japan65 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5
Sep. 16th, 2017
This is how I remember sencha! Very strong green vegetal aroma and a seaweed-y flavour. It has a thick mouthfeel and the colour is light greenish yellow. The way I made it now, it didn't taste bitter like other senchas have before, which is a shame because I quite liked that bitterness and I feel that would really comp...

The leaves look interesting: the leaves are shredded into flat pieces of two or three square millimeters and relatively light green. (Isn't sencha usually needle-shaped?)
I don't have much experience with senchas, but this doesn't quite seem like the two better ones. I remember a strong bright, "green" vegetal aroma...
Yunnan (Green) from De Theefabriek
Style: Green Tea – Region: Yunnan, China81 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Sep. 2nd, 2017
Even before I brewed this, the colour of the leaves reminded me of Vietnamese green teas: olive green with some grey and white leaves. The aroma and the colour of the liqueur also reminded me of Vietnamese green teas.
The aroma and flavour made me think of Simon Lévelt's Yen Bai Groen and a brandless tea called Vietn...
Green Tea from Ten Ren Tea
Style: Green Tea – Region: ?????72 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Aug. 29th, 2017
After reading the reviews here and needing more office tea, I went to a local Ten Ren store looking for Dragon Well in the tea bag. They had it in loose form only at $150 a pound. They directed me to the Asian market next door where they did have the Green Tea.
Just finished a cup and it's like what you all wrote. A...
Sencha Kakegawa from Het Gouden Randje
Style: Sencha – Region: Shizuoka, Japan66 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Aug. 25th, 2017
I drank a cup of this tea at Het Gouden Randje.
It has a vegetal aroma and a grassy flavour. The colour is a lovely yellow-green. It has a pleasant hint of bitterness (which reminds me of UNAMI's Kabuse Cha, which is my only previous run-in with sencha). There's no sweetness in the flavour, and even though I usually l...
Natural Green Tea from Western Family
Style: Green Tea – Region: ?????53 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5
Aug. 23rd, 2017
Obtainable mainly in assorted supermarkets across the West, this store-brand green tea tasted about average for a bagged green tea—placing it somewhat above-average for generic/store-brand teas overall. The dry leaves in the bag were quite finely chopped, but still identifiable as leaves! Some stem pieces appeared ...

This is a tea I've been drinking after coming home from work. It's OK. Seems to have a very dark color, close to black tea. Not much flavor so I always put a spoonful of honey in this.

I might still have to work out some things with brewing this tea, because this second attempt tastes very different from the first.
It has a strong vegetal aroma and very little sweetness. It reminds me a little bit of Young Hyson right now which seems strange. After all, this tea is supposed to be mild whereas Youn...
Choui Fong from De Theefabriek
Style: Green Tea – Region: Thailand64 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5

The leaves are extremely large and irregular, so much so that they don't even fit in my regular strainer.
Fun fact that I just learned: All images of teas on De Theefabriek's product pages are in exactly the same scale, and are 5 x 5 cm squares in real life. This helps give a sense of the size of the leaves.
The te...
Organic Japanese Sencha from DAVIDsTEA
Style: Sencha – Region: Shizuoka, Japan79 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 5/5
Jul. 9th, 2017
Of all the pure teas I've gotten from David's, this is the first one to not stand out from the crowd. It is not a bad tea at all. Like mostly everything I've tried at David's, it is above average. It is just not as impressive as some of the other Greens and Oolongs I have purchased there. This is one of the lowest p...
