Sencha Overture from Adagio Teas
Style: Sencha – Region: Japan87 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
May. 17th, 2015
This was the first green tea I ever tried, and I liked it quite a bit.
It tastes like spinach, but in a fresh, pleasant sort of way. Also some grassy and fishy tastes. It's rich and savory. Pretty sweet. Pretty astringent. Very slightly bitter. I found it very relaxing.
I've only ever tried Adagio's green teas so...
Jasmine Bloom from Adagio Teas
Style: Jasmine Tea – Region: ?????87 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
May. 6th, 2015
Each individual cluster is so well packaged that one can throw an envelope into one's bag and carry magic around with them everywhere, just in case they want to delight an audience with good, fragrant tea and a really beautiful bloom.
The green tea itself can be overpowered by the jasmine in the first steep, but it...
Yunnan Gold (Golden Yunnan) from Adagio Teas
Style: Yunnan Gold – Region: Yunnan, China77 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
May. 4th, 2015
I like this tea, at least when I give it a good week or so between tastings. I'm not sure why I get sick of it, but I do. I think it's the leaf-pile scent that remains after my nose gets used to the sweet and fruity aromas.
With that confession off my chest, let me stress that this is a quality tea with a lots of c...
Silver Needle from Adagio Teas
Style: Silver Needle – Region: Fujian, China60 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
May. 4th, 2015
For some this tea is probably perfect. They can likely enjoy the muted spectrum of flavor and scent that is mostly lost on me. As much as I’d like to be in their camp, I need the volume on my white tea to by dialed just a bit higher. That said, what I do taste and smell is not bad. This is an enjoyable, if muted, tea...

Style: Fruit Green Tea – Region: China70 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Apr. 25th, 2015
I taste the apricot much more strongly than the green tea, though the green tea does give it body. It could use a little something (like coconut) to add sweetness and complexity, but it's very good. The aroma of apricot is strong and delicious.

Mar. 8th, 2015
The aroma is intensely floral, hello notes of hyacinth, orchids, and a mellow finish of chestnuts. It is like flower nectar and mild, sweet, nuts, the aroma overall is fairly mild while also being heady.
First steep starts out pretty mild, and finishes pretty mild, it is a super mellow tea without much of a presence...
Jasmine Phoenix Pearls (Jasmine #12) from Adagio Teas
Style: Jasmine Pearls – Region: Fujian, China83 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5
Feb. 28th, 2015
Now sold as "Jasmine Phoenix Pearls," this tea is light and floral. The pearls were nicely wound and were generally free of flaws. The aroma of the leaves is strong with the scent of jasmine. The liquor is light and is, again, strongly scented with jasmine. The taste is a light green tea with a strong jasmine taste - a...

Feb. 20th, 2015
The aroma of the leaves is a delicate blend of green beans and sesame seeds with a touch of spicebush flowers and hyacinth. There is also a tiny hint of chestnut at the finish, the aroma notes are not the strongest, but they are pleasant in their delicateness.
The taste is refreshing, it starts with a blend of melo...
Hunan Gold from Adagio Teas
Style: Yellow Tea – Region: Hunan, China83 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Feb. 10th, 2015
First up, the aroma is like spring time, specifically it evokes my favorite flower (ok one of them, I really love flowers) peony! It also has the aroma of delicate orange blossoms, chestnuts, and just a hint of mown grass and honey. The notes are delicate, reminding me more of a breeze bringing in these aromas through ...

Style: Rooibos – Region: South Africa83 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Feb. 3rd, 2015
The aroma of the little red leaves is sweet and woody, exactly the way I expect Rooibos to smell! I do not drink it unblended nearly enough, which is tragic because I love the stuff. There are also notes of caramel, a touch of honey, the tiniest hint of pepper and much to my surprise and ending hint of pie crust, which...

Jan. 10th, 2015
Not for me. I’m not a straight vanilla in tea fan anyway so I had doubts I’d like this. It’s not the worst thing but not something I can keep drinking or will drink again.
The smell is slightly artificial but kind of pleasant. The taste is…well, not good for me since I don’t like vanilla teas. People who d...
Minecraft Slime from Adagio Teas
Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: Blend80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Jan. 3rd, 2015
The aroma is a quirky blend of lime jello, growing green things, and wet stone, name aside, this smells exactly like I imagine a Slime bouncing around in a cave would smell...wet and citrus with hints of green! The smell makes me giggle, it makes my nose tingle like sniffing a fizzy soda, it is a little weird but fun.

Ceylon Sonata from Adagio Teas
Style: Ceylon Black Tea – Region: Kandy, Sri Lanka80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Nov. 12th, 2014
This tea has a nice fruity aroma. I like just smelling it for a while before actually taking a drink. I want to say that it reminds me of purple grapes.
The taste actually has a good degree of character. It's a mix between chocolate and citrus notes, and that's without any sweetener. It's also quite smooth, with ver...
Pu Erh Chorange from Adagio Teas
Style: Flavored Pu-erh – Region: Yunnan, China83 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5
Nov. 12th, 2014
This was the first puerh I had ever tried. I still love the scent. The orange peel and blue cornflower are just intoxicating to me for some reason.
That being said, the taste is pretty good. I've sampled enough varieties of teas now to be able to recognize excellent flavor from decent flavor. This is above decent, b...
Inara from Adagio Teas
Style: Black Tea – Region: ?????97 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Nov. 3rd, 2014
Unfortunately the smell of the leaves was overpowered by my Jayne tea, but I could make out a hint of clove. As with most black teas it’s bitter without sugar, but when you add sugar it really brings out the spice. It has a very clove-y taste which is really great as it pairs really well with the sweetness.

The leaves themselves have a very deep vanilla smell and, when brewed, it changes to a subtle fruity aroma with a nutty hint. It's not as bitter as I expected it would be without sugar - you can definitely taste the apricot. It's not bad exactly, but it is sort of a let down. Two teaspoons of sugar bring out the vanill...

It’s a gunpowder/chestnut blend with anise and cinnamon. The scent of the leaves is really sweet and candle-worthy, but when you brew it it has a very subtle gunpowder smell with a hint of spice. I, of course, put two teaspoons of sugar in it, which really brought out the flavor (it was really bitter before). The tas...

The tea itself smells deliciously like vanilla, and once brewed has a very subtle apple scent. It’s actually quite pleasant without sugar, which is rare for me to say. It’s fruity with a barely-there, bitter aftertaste. I personally prefer sweeter teas, so I added two teaspoons of sugar, and, honestly, this is such...

If I didn't know better, I'd have thought this was a chamomile, not a Darjeeling. The mint was fine, if you like mint, but overall I just wasn't impressed.

Now THIS is my kind of Earl Grey. Love the aroma. The flavor is at once sweet, citrusy, and deliciously floral--all blended perfectly into a beautifully soothing, must-be-experienced tea. The black tea provides body, but imparts no bitterness at all. Just perfection. :-)

I haven't tried a lot of decaffeinated black teas, but I'm starting to think I may prefer them. I haven't tried the regular version of this tea yet, but I appreciate that it doesn't have the bitterness I commonly associate with some black teas. It tastes fruity and fresh, and smells wonderful too.
Though it's made o...
Golden Monkey from Adagio Teas
Style: Golden Monkey – Region: Fujian, China53 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Aug. 8th, 2014
Okay, so here's the thing with this tea: I bet it's a great example of the kind of tea that it is. It has the bitterness of black tea, but in a way that feels more blended/smooth than most and gives it body. The primary other flavor I seem to identify in this robust tea is a raisin-like aroma and taste, and it has a ra...

Nothing mind blowing, but the merging of Caramel, Ginger, and Vanilla flavors makes a richly flavored cup with depth and satisfaction.
Make sure to steep at just below boiling for three minutes as the brew can get bitter.
Green Rooibos Key West from Adagio Teas

Jul. 22nd, 2014
The aroma is a great blend of tropical fruit and apricot, citrus, a touch of floral, and a tiny hint of woodiness and bamboo. It certainly lives up to its name as of sniffing the dry leaves, which is always a good sign.
Tasting time! The first sip starts off a little dry and mild then all of a sudden a tropical frui...
