Picture of Golden Bi Luo

Golden Bi Luo from Chicago Tea Garden

Style: Yunnan Gold – Region: Yunnan, China

87 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Oct. 26th, 2010

Huh, a black tea made in the style of a green. How 'bout that? The leaves have been hand-rolled in a heated wok so they seem to be like Bi Luo Chun - Green Snail Spring. This lovely gold dust [from the golden bud hairs] covered tea comes from Yunnan Province, China and tastes much like a usual Yunnan, woodsy, a tad...

Lilac Bouquet Tea from Simpson & Vail

Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend

83 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Oct. 26th, 2010

This is definitely not a tea for everyone. I am surprised that I like it, as I am not too fond of most flavored teas. However, this smells like lilacs and I suppose, tastes like them. It is very flowery, but not at all perfumey or overly sweet or cloying. It is very well done and would be an interesting "second" te...

Om from Tazo Tea

Oct. 25th, 2010

Whoops! Didn't let me finish... There is something ineffably yummy about this tea. It shouldn't work (black AND green? With "flavors of peach and cucumber?) but it is bright, grassy, and drinkable, less earthy than a green but less tannic than a black. I keep drinking more, just to try and put my finger on what's g...

Raspberry Gardens® Green Tea with White Tea from Celestial Seasonings

Style: Miscellaneous Blend – Region: ?????

57 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 3/5
Oct. 24th, 2010

Honestly, this tea is nothing special. It isn't bad, but it's also not exceptionally good. It isn't very flavorful, but I am pleased that it isn't too sweet. I've found that many fruity flavored green teas are almost sickeningly sweet, but this has a more subtle raspberry flavor.

67 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5
Oct. 23rd, 2010

I liked the aroma of this tea better than the taste. It didn't have much of the 'tropical' taste to it, but it was pretty good. I had it hot but it does seem like it would be really good cold.

70 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Oct. 23rd, 2010

I had only had pu-erh once before and thought it was ok, but nothing to get excited about. This didn't really change my mind, but I found it to have an intriguing earthy smell and taste, set off well by putting some skin in to brew with it. Mine didn't have a zesty orange taste, but was rather a pleasant, mild, smoot...

Oh bliss, oh joy, this smells just like the shrub Philadelphius or Mock Orange. It is delicate but so lovely. Don;t brew too long, 2 minutes is plenty, or it's nasty bitter and don't buy more than you'll use up quickly as the rose tends to disappear, but it is worth it while it lasts

Ya gotta love lavender and Earl Gray to love this, but it is the BEST I have ever had in this category. Make it a tad on the weak side if it is new, if you've had it awhile, put in a bit extra. Wonderful stuff.

In spite of this not being the top grade, it is a wonderful tea, a bit - very tiny bit - smokey, but winey and deep, with some roasted overtones. Very satisfying.

I've only had one pot of this, but was it super! Very Russian, by which I mean it had a certain heaviness that makes you think of old incense, but neither smells not tastes like incense. You can get it on Amazon and it is really worth it.

This is my favorite fruity tea from Celestial Seasonings; most of them are too sour for me. It has an intoxicating peach aroma, which might strike one as a bit artificial except that it is backed up with the depth of other herbs, giving this blend a full body and a balanced character.

One thing I like about this bl...

This is THE tisane I turn to when I have a cold. Usually when I get sick, I'm too stuck on stupid to brew a good pot of loose leaf. However, Bigelow's Mint Medley is a quick and easy head-clearer.

This hold the esteemed honor of being the only chamomile blend I've ever had that can be iced to great effect. Chamomile usually tastes horrible iced, but the addition of lemongrass and citrus bits adds something zesty but still cozy. It's my summertime nighty-night blend.

Tokio is a frustrating tea because it has this really fantastic, delicate fruity aroma, but the actual flavor is kind of heavy handed... all around "berry" flavor that way over powers the green tea.
I'm not a fan of berry/fruit tea in general so I'm definitely biased. However, I would recommend it to any fruit tea lov...

The flavors are mild and disappear wuickly if you like to add anything to your tea (I like honey). The finish is a bit acidic, but not overly so. It's fairly decent for bagged tea.
