Decaf Genmai-Cha from Yamamotoyama
Style: Genmaicha – Region: ?????83 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Jul. 12th, 2012
This review is old and since I wrote it, I have tried other Genmai cha's. For the price you pay, you're getting a pretty good quality product. The tea is a decent quality, slightly sweet sencha while the rice adds this warm nutty flavor to it. This is more of a winter tea for me, but it would go great with chicken s...

You can taste the toastiness of this tea. it's slightly savory with more of a strong flavor than regular green tea and would probably go well with a nice stew in the winter. It's a little smokey which threw me off when i first tried it, but not bad. Plus, YMY is relatively cheap and has acceptable quality so at the ...

So far from the sample pack i got, this is my favorite. The tea contains ingredients such as orange peel and chamomile, giving it a slightly tangy and sweet top note. I feel that it's a bit misnamed because it tastes very little like honey and more like green tea with a hint of citrus. It's not something I personall...

PG tips is the best ever for straight Black Tea drinkers (no sugar no cream). Great for ice tea because it's strong and three bags make a good quart for sweet or unsweet ready for ice. I drink it hot and all the way till it cools, drives my English relatives bommy. Love the stuff!

Dry leaf has a mild herbaceous aroma, and a dusty appearance.
Produces an olive-green cup. Crisp, clear flavor, with honey-like qualities. Aroma is mild, dominated by melow herbaceous tones. Flavor is clean and the tea has a cooling quality. I found its flavor grew on me a bit. Produces two very flavorful infus...
Raspberry Royale® Black Tea from Bigelow Tea

Jul. 10th, 2012
I don't usually like fruity teas, but this was an exception, especially because of it's subtle flavor. I'd advise anyone who wants a strong fruity tea to steer clear, but for those like me who usually find them too strong, I'd fully recommend it.

I really liked the smell of this tea, the spices were strong, especially the cloves. Unfortunately, the taste didn't match. I thought the tea itself was flavorless in comparison to it's rich aroma.

A powerful, robust, Assam-like tea.
I'm not feeling the description Simpson and Vail gives for this tea; I found it neither smooth nor sweet. This tea brews a strong, dark cup. The aroma and flavor are more like Assam than any tea I've tried outside of Assam. However, there are some nuances that I find most teas ...
Mixed Berry Green Tea from Lipton Tea
Style: Fruit Green Tea – Region: Blend37 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 3/5
Jul. 5th, 2012
So, I love berry tea especially mixed with green tea. But this didn't taste like it had real berries, jut fake flavors. I know the box says natural flavors, but when I brewed it, it smelled like fake cherry and then tasted like strawberries. Maybe I got a bad batch, but it's also more bitter than the regular green t...

It's ok. For a cheap tea, it has a lot of flavor but I noticed a chemical taste in mine that really turned me off. I know for a lot of people, this seems like a value but if you buy loose leaf blends, you can get a better quality tea for much cheaper, but I digress. It's not great but it could be a lot worse in term...

Style: Ripened (Shou) Pu-erh – Region: Yunnan, China33 / 100 Aroma: 4/10 Flavor: 1/5 Value: 1/5
Jul. 3rd, 2012
This tea is ripened (Shu) Pu-erh, which I tend to be less a fan of than raw (sheng) Pu-erh. The dry leaf, when compressed, is very tightly packed, and relatively unaromatic. Upon steeping, it becomes evident that the leaf of this tea is finely broken. The leaf is slow to infuse while still compressed but once the ca...

Normally I don't have tea with my breakfast, but I decided to try it out with a cup of Ten Ren White Tea this morning. It had a mild and smooth taste, with only a slight hint of bitterness after drinking. While I normally prefer water I juice in the morning, I thought this tea was refreshing and would have it with bre...

Dry leaf is finely broken yet twiggy; has a strong, unique aroma, like celery or dried dill, very fresh and herbaceous, and quite different from what I am used to from a green tea.
The brewed cup is surprisingly similar in aroma to the dry leaf. The cup has a cooling quality, slightly brisk, with some astringency a...
Ceylon Green Tea with Lemon Grass from Dilmah
Style: Green Tea with Lemon – Region: Sri Lanka / Ceylon60 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Jul. 1st, 2012
I found this tea underwhelming. It's not bad, but usually when someone puts a flavor on a bad, you expect a flavor in the tea. This pretty much tastes like the dilmah green ceylon with a hint of lemongrass, maybe, if you can find it.

I feel like this tea is both unique and versatile, which is ultimately why I put people should buy it. The tea is more scented like caramel and goes well with milk and sugar (despite the suggestions of the company), but is good naked as well. I think the ultimate strength is its ability to mix well with other fruit f...

The leaf of this tea is broken in large, rounded chunks, unlike the shape of any loose-leaf green tea that I've seen yet.
Brewed as instructed, it produces a cup with a clear, golden green. Flavor is clean and crisp without being sharp. Seems to have a slight cooling quality, very refreshing. If steeped too long,...
Premium Tea from Dilmah

I don't think this tea is particularly bad, it just isn't as good as their other teas and you can probably find a better quality ceylon for cheaper. The taste is crisp and clear and it does the job right, but I'd stick with the fruit teas.

First off, this tea smells phenomenal. Dilmah does a great job making a fruit tea that can also double as an air freshener. As for the taste, it makes a great iced tea. The mango is strong, the tea is strong, and they're fairly well balanced. Overall, if you like mango, then you'll like this.

I love Dilmah, but this is probably one of my least favorite teas of theirs. It just doesn't have any punch like other mint teas do. Try their other teas, but don't expect much if you get this in a sample pack.

This tea grew on me. I got this as a sample and ended up just having to pay the shipping, so 2 oz for 3 dollars AND a 20% off coupon (which sadly has expired). The banana flavor lends itself well to the crispness of the tea and if you want something to eat shortbread cookies with, I can think of very few things that ...

Overall, I think this is a good bagged chai if you like your chai a little spicy. It takes milk well, has a good blend of sweet and spicy and is cheap. You're still better off making your own, but this works for the lazy.
