Black Tea from Lipton Tea
Style: Black Tea – Region: ?????45 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 5/5

Lipton gets a bad rap. I get it too. It’s light, bland, and shallow.
I over-steeped my tea because I start with water that is less than a rolling boil, but really it was because I needed all that time to bring out any semblance of taste.
Lipton is a tea, but that’s about it.
You don’t even need two sente...

Half-litre pot at home, made from curly sticks of dried leaves, varying in length from 1 to 1.5 inch. Pours neatly clear dark copper brown (against white china) with no sediment. Clear aroma of black tea with mild notes of fruit and hints of herbs. Mild, bitterish flavour of black tea, with round fruity hints and herba...

Classic English Breakfast tea but I expected more from Twinings here. You aren't hit by this tea (like by Typhoo). I like a bit of a stronger note in taste. This one is unspectacular. I really tried to find something special in this tea but didn't find anything.

I was a bit disappointed with this one. Almost no taste, if you compare it to other black teas (like Typhoo) far too mild and decent. Didn't give me any kick. Very boring taste.

This is your everyday black tea. Strong, a bit of an undertaste (my first thought was fish) but you get used to this tea quite quickly. Dark colour in your cup, strong, traditional tea, fair price. If you're looking for a classic everyday black tea for any day of time this is absolutely it.

A classic English breakfast tea. Not too strong, nothing extraordinary, no tea to disagree with. But no tea to get hooked on!

The aroma is very mild. Liquor has an amber appearance. Flavor is mild. I'm a bit underwhelmed by this tea. I was expecting it to be stronger on all front. I will not bother with this particular blend again.

Having never had Irish Breakfast tea before I was a bit taken aback when I opened the container to not find tea leaves, but little pellets like the low cost tea my brother buys! Having imported it all the way here I was really disappointed until I brewed some and discovered it makes the best milk tea ever.

A rather strong and sharp tea that suits milk tea very well. I tend to mix this with other teas to make their flavor more mild. It’s my go to if I just want rich delicious milk tea with honey.

Dry, this tea smells like a Lipton teabag, which is potentially promising. I've yet to find a decaffeinated black tea that actually tastes like tea.
After adding water, a hint of earthiness comes through. The dominant aroma is the same wet paper smell that I now realize is a hallmark of decaffeinated black tea. The ...

According to the box, this tea is from "Southeastern China." Fujian, maybe? The dry tea is in unbleached, individually wrapped (but not sealed) teabags. It's finely chopped and smells earthy and dusty, kind of like old books.
I'll point out first that preparing normally (one teabag in eight ounces of boiling water f...

I bring news! Whether it's good news or not is up to the reader. This tea, as a brand with the same name, is not retired after all, as of Feb. 2020. Instead, it has found its way to the food-service division of Unilever, Lipton's corporate overlord. I'll upload a photo of its newest packaging separately. I was abl...

As expected the aroma is similar to a pine forest on fire, or a freshly paved road. For those new to lapsing souchong, it might be a bit intimidating. Those who are adverse to trying because of the aroma are missing out on a wonderful cup of tea. The liquor is a deep amber color. The flavor is nice. Once brewed, the bu...

I suspected something was wrong with the quality (or lack thereof) of this tea when I opened up the tin and there was no scent. (Side note: The best by date isn't for about 2 years, so that's not the issue.) Some teas have a very, very light scent, though. So, I tried to suspend judgment and brewed a cup as the packagi...

This is not to be confused with the apparently much-better-known Trader Joe's "Harvest Blend" herbal tea, which is a completely different product. Instead, this black tea came in a 10-bag sealed wrapper, tucked into one of four squares of a wooden gift box. The outside paper wrapper of the gift box describes all four...

Ordered a Fujiian Black Tea sampler pack from Yunnan Sourcing and this was my second favorite. Nice and light with a good 2-3 re-steeps coming out of it. I was astonished by this tea's quality as well as value for its price. One of my friends recently bought this from a Russian market, and he had only recently opened the container so it was very fresh.

This is a new entry in Upton's growing list of breakfast blends; it was created as on of their 30th anniversary specials. It is not as robust or malty as some breakfast blends, but not extra mild either - it falls somewhere in the middle. This has a little nip to it. The price is a little high.

A blend of Assam teas that turns out to be smooth and flavorful, and offered at an excellent price by Upton. It has been one of their top sellers, for a long time, and it is not hard to see why. I love this tea. I don't often purchase larger quantities of tea without trying it first, but this was on sale around Thanksgiving and I decided to give 50g a try. The leaves were nice and large. Being in Oklahoma, the name of this seasonal tea intrigued me a lot, even though the storms inspiring it are cold, wet wintertime blasts on the British Columbia coast, instead of southern Plains severe thunderstorms and tornadoes. Then again, that makes sense. What would tornado tea be, and would it even matter? The...
